Hello Guys.
Most of us are eager to discover as to how the DECEMBER visa bulletin will look like. Days more to count and it shall be out. Hoping that it shall carry good news to everybody waiting in line for yers now.
I pray hard that PD (cut-off date) shall move forward. Even a modest/conservative movement will do, so long as its moving.
Please dare to share your thoughts on the upcoming VB.
Godbless and keep the hope high and faith burning.:redbeathe

Neither candidate is going to lift retrogression, and the one who leans more towards immigration ( McCain) is behind.
Whoever gets elected needs to keep Americans employed, if there are nursing opportunities it will go to laid off Americans. If need be the Americans will get the education needed for the nursing positions. In the mean time if there are hours available they will be taken by the employed nurses in form of overtime. In the current economic situation most employed nurses will grab all the extra work since they don't know when it will be available again.
Sorry give such bad news, you have to remember even if retrogression is lifted you have to have a current job offer.

Elections are next week, the swearing in ceremony is not until the end of January; so they will not even have any authority to do a thing until then as a start. And there are many more pressing issues that need to be taken care of first; immigration for nurses with green cards is not going to be a priority and it has not been either for sometime.
And if you are reading what is happening here, there is actually a push to offer a tax credit for each and every American that an employer hires over the next two years to keep the jobs for Americans here. And once again, the employer is going to need to prove that they cannot hire an American for the job at this time.
If one is waiting for a visa, and they have a PD date of 2005; then that means that there were issues with your application and/or employer from the beginning and nothing to do with the US. This is something that you need to discuss with your employer as to why it took so long to get approval in the first place.

Just keep on praying that PD will move for December. There is nothing wrong with that. I do not have any clue as to what movement Dec PD would have. I can only hope for the best for all of you.
No one knows the future of immigration in the US. One can only predict and give an opinion but that is only how far it can go. Again, nobody knows the future of immigration in the US. Not even the present president, nor the next one nor the best immigration lawyers of America. Nobody knows! How much more from people in this forum?
I have nothing against people who dream to come here and work. I have been to many facilities that are in dire need of nurses that locals can't even fill. Overtime is always an option but there is only much one can do.
Hold on to your dreams and do not let anybody take that dream away from you. Good luck foreign nurses!

Thank you for such a very warm message.
I certainly agree with all the things that you've said. We dreamers must hold and stick to our dreams. And dont allow anyone to take it from us.
Off topic but I just wanna say this: Qualities that you posess are the one so much needed in here. Thus, you must consider yourself being a moderator.:wink2: Truly said, the way I look at it, you're a perfect picture of how a moderator should think, and express his/her opinions. Quite fair, true and justifiable.
Anyhow, Let's wait for the December VB. Hope it shall carry good news.
@ Suzzane: Yes you are right that those applicants with PDs of 2005 had some issues with our applications before, that is why we're left behind. But THANK GOD, we were able to make it through to being DOC QUALIFIED now. Just waiting for our P4.
By the way guys, just piece of update. I phoned US Embassy Riyadh few days ago. asked for my status, got a reply that they are still processing cases with PDs earlier than May 1, 2005. The gentleman also said that they got my docs fresh from NVC, just waiting for consular processing. I dont know what this means, but I hope there'll be a glimpse of hope for my PD to be current this DECEMBER VB.
Godbless and Goodluck to everybody:bow::bow:
Could you share with us where all these positions are? I know and read that many newly licensed nurses can't find positions, are these place that will hire new grads? Will they hire new foreign grads? Every hospital in my area ( Mass) is being hit hard by governmentals cuts, I would love to know where currently in the USA they have tons of positions where they can spend over $10k for a foreign nurse.
I know of many local hospitals using travelers, since they are cheaper labor than hiring an experienced nurse. Travelers are experienced nurses and usually get paid less then the current staff. You have to be an experienced nurse to be a traveler. And while travelers give relief for nursing staff, it is not realistic to have a staff abeing travelers. I can see from your prospect
working as a travler that nursing positions are plentiful, but is this really repsentative of the whole US nursing situation?
My last point, I wonder where my "American Dream" is going? I see retirement funds in the toliet, people once planning on retiring are holding on to their positions. Personally this is my second year of a 3% raise, which is really a decrease since insurance preminums are taking whatever raise I get before I see my check. Many hospitals have hiring freezes, My local taxes are going up while service is going down. According to one candidate running I am no longer middle class and have to pay hire taxes or I am not patriotic. Many home owners are loosing their homes, read the boards here many nurses are filing for bankrupcy! People in general are loosing their jobs and when they find a new job it pays less and they work more. So what is the American Dream? Work hard, work harder, and loose your job and money?
