Integrated Science Program (ISP)

Does anybody know if the California Board of Registered Nursing (CA BRN) accepts courses taken at the Integrated Science Program (ISP)? The ISP is located in Whitter and Hayward. I have been trying to get a hold of the CA BRN for almost two months. The phone is always busy, or I get a message saying that they are unavailable. The ISP is very expensive so I'd like to know if it is recognized by the BRN before I take the class.

For reference, I am a RN in the state of New Mexico but I recently moved to California. I have faced numerous obstacles trying to get my licensed transferred here. One obstacle has been that New Mexico didn't require Microbiology but California does.

I appreciate any information I can get! Thanks so much for your time and help!

I heard from my lvn coworker national university. I will be calling on Fri to get full detail, but I heard they offer two month sciences classes.

Awesome... Keep me posted. Because if ISP is not all that... I can still drop them and get full refund.

1500 seems like a lot! At my school it's like 158 per credit hour I believe. Other community colleges should be similar. Although we don't have two month science courses unless it's over summer and they are 6 weeks long.

So I'm done with the microbiology course... Pleased to say I passed with a B. It was such an intense course and a lot to study with so little time considering I work full time. Because of this I will not take the A&P course... Unless I wouldn't have to work...

What study methods helped you? I'm taking Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology all this semester. I just completed intro chemistry, which I've heard will help me for microbiology class. Flashcards, study partner, and tutor. I was thinking of using colorful play doo clay models for anatomy/Physicology.

I audio recorded the lectures, printed power points and read repeatedly. I did meet with a study group which helped. Because I do work full time it was a bit difficult to concentrate but anything helps.

Thanks for sharing. Where are you taking A&P? :)

I'm changing jobs... So I can take classes in the a.m. I'm hoping Cerritos.
