Integrated Science Program (ISP)

Does anybody know if the California Board of Registered Nursing (CA BRN) accepts courses taken at the Integrated Science Program (ISP)? The ISP is located in Whitter and Hayward. I have been trying to get a hold of the CA BRN for almost two months. The phone is always busy, or I get a message saying that they are unavailable. The ISP is very expensive so I'd like to know if it is recognized by the BRN before I take the class.

For reference, I am a RN in the state of New Mexico but I recently moved to California. I have faced numerous obstacles trying to get my licensed transferred here. One obstacle has been that New Mexico didn't require Microbiology but California does.

I appreciate any information I can get! Thanks so much for your time and help!

I'd imagine you can take it at any accredited college in CA since ABSN programs don't have microbiology in their nursing curriculum but require it as a prerequisite. This prerequisite can be fulfilled by taking microbiology at any accredited college in CA (community colleges, state schools, UC's, etc)

I'd email them to get a confirmation in writing before enrolling in any courses.

The ISP program is given through the Southern California University of Health Sciences which is WASC accredited. WASC accreditation is good to have and their website says it has been transferred to other colleges and universities. I have a friend who took their Microbiology course last fall in time to apply to nursing school and she will be starting this coming fall in the nursing school of her choice. Here is the link to their FAQs. Hope this helps!

ISP - FAQ for the Accelerated College Science Program Courses and Classes

I'm about to start this course on Saturday 7/26/14. Has anybody else taken this course... I'm a bit apprehensive but exited at the same time... This and A&P is all I need to finish my pre-reqs prior to entering a RN bridge program...
