  1. I think it took me around 4 to 5 months to hear back. I had a DWI that was 10 years old (BAC .16) and they approved me.
  2. UPDATE: My course was accepted by the California BRN. So the Southern California University of Health Sciences is recognized by the CA BRN for anybody else who is wondering.
  3. Does anybody know if the California Board of Registered Nursing (CA BRN) accepts courses taken at the Integrated Science Program (ISP)? The ISP is located in Whitter and Hayward. I have been trying to get a hold of the CA BRN for almost two months. The phone is always busy, or I get a message saying that they are unavailable. The ISP is very expensive so I'd like to know if it is recognized by the BRN before I take the class. For reference, I am a RN in the state of New Mexico but I recently moved to California. I have faced numerous obstacles trying to get my licensed transferred here. One obstacle has been that New Mexico didn't require Microbiology but California does. I appreciate any information I can get! Thanks so much for your time and help! Melissa
  4. Yes California is awful! I was able to receive my license in New Mexico in three weeks. It took the California BRN one month to open my application and two months just to tell me I had to take Microbiology. Not to mention I can't get a hold of anybody when I call. I wouldn't look in to CA unless you have to or if you are not in a hurry to get your license.
  5. Thanks for your reply! Yes they are ridiculously picky! I left them a voicemail that they said they would return in a week and haven't heard anything back from them. I've been calling multiple times a day since then and all I get a is a busy signal so I'm trying to figure this out on my own.
  6. I am a New Mexico Registered Nurse trying to transfer my license to California. The California Board of Registered Nursing (CA BRN) is requiring me to take Microbiology (which was not required in NM). Does anybody know of any online microbiology courses that are approved by the CA BRN? I have looked into the University of Phoenix and the 'ISP Program' offered by Southern California University of Health Sciences in Los Angeles. I am currently located in a small town 3 hours away from LA and 2 hours away from Bakersfield so online options are really the best for me. Thanks for any advice or recommendations!
