Inland Empire

Published

Hey everyone,

My family will be moving to the Inland Empire from Phoenix in the next few months. Leaning towards Corona. What are the best facilities in the area to work in? I have a BSN and three years experience.

I tried searching for info on this topic but the threads were all 4+ years old.

The IE is pretty big, so it's hard to give specific advice. Corona has a hospital, and is a short commute to Orange County hospitals. The best pay is St. Bernadine's, Riverside Community, Desert Regional, or Kaiser

That's a start. Thanks!

I lied down there for a few years. You didn't say your specialty? I worked at st. Bs. Good pay, but terrible cheap work environment. corona regional offered me a job but looked like a lousy environment too. the OC hospitals are nicer. St joes of orange was prob my fav of everywhere I worked and not a bad commute if you work off hours. The wages really aren't what they should be for the cost of the area which is why I'm in Sacramento now.

Corona is nice, but overcrowded for the streets they built. Traffic will be a new part of your life. :)

good luck!

Hmm, as of right now I don't really have a specialty. I've kind of been all over the place. I spent the most time in tele, but have done ortho/neuro/trauma, home health, and I'm currently in public health. I'm supposed to start registry next week to get back into the hospital setting. I've been out for about a year now and I miss it. I have his love/hate relationship with acute care; it drives me crazy while I'm there but whenever I leave, I want to go back.

You might have more of a love relationship in California with our ratio laws. Max assignment in tele is 4 patients. And med surg/ortho etc is 1:5.

I'm at Riverside Community and I really enjoy the staff and the leadership. It's not easy work always busy great pay and benefits.

I hope so Nicki! I've had six patients on tele before and seven on med-Surg. Definitely not fun!

Do you know if they accept temp licenses?
