Can anyone clearify what this class is. I am gonna work on it during my CPNE wait, which I am going to apply for soon. Is it a class that takes a while, or is this something I can finish in a week or so. I have plenty of time to work on it.

Hi! Info Lit is taken directly through EC, once you pay for the course you read through material on the Ec sit about how to obtain info through the internet etc. you take short quizzes at the end of every section I think there are about ten , once you complete that you take a final exam and if you pass are awarded your 1 credit! It took most people who I have spoken to only about a day to complete, trust me I am no computer genius and it only took me about three hours! Good Luck!

Agree with Chris. If you have a free afternoon, you should be able to knock it out without too much stress.

That Info Lit was such a joke. Also silly to me that EC requires it of students who have successfully made their way through an ONLINE program, duh. Ya think I know how to use a computer and the internet? $285 for one lousy credit that I didn't need or learn a single useful thing from. Took about 3 hours. Have fun!

is there any other way to satisfy this requirement?
You could take a similar course through another school and receive credit if you can show that the content is comparable. Have to tell you though - you'd be hard-pressed to find an easier Information Literacy class anywhere. (See posts #2-4.) Unless you've already taken a class that you think would earn credit, I would go with the EC course.

what does the content involve. i had to take a nursing computers class prior to starting lvn school and then when i was taking prereqs for rn at the community i had to take another computer class that was required.

Oh, man, what a bore. As Eric said, an afternoon is more than enough. And it's just pass/fail so no biggie.
