I'm so tired!!!

I have been studying (off and on) since May 27th for this exam. I am scheduled for the NCLEX July 24th (next Monday). I started work July 10th (last Monday). I am tired, cranky and feel like I'm back in school preparing for finals!!!

I try to study, but I'm so tired of this stuff that I don't know what to do!! I figured out that between Kaplan, Saunders and Nursing 3500....I have done about 3420 questions!!! When does it end???

I simply don't want to do this anymore!!!!

I feel your pain.... I test 25 Jul. I had to do 8 weeks of critical care training right after graduation and I was burnt to say the least. I was able to take a few weeks off from the books and now I am just answering questions and I hope that is enough. I guess it would be silly to reveiw 3+ years of learning in a few weeks.

You are coming to the end, take a few days off and study two to three days then relax a day or two before the test. You already have the info or else you wouldn't have graduated. Just relax and dont kill yourself before you become an RN.

Good Luck

Hey, hang in there! It's good that you have so much time and you are well prepared. That's called burnout my friend, try to find some time to unwind. I'm sure you'll make fine in your exam. Good luck! ... and take it easy ;)

I have to admit that I got a good laugh when I logged on and saw the titles of the two most recent NCLEX threads - 'I'm so tired!' and 'I'm on top of the world right now!' The truth is that most testers go through both emotions. While the NCLEX can be a rough test and burnout can ensue even before exam day, most candidates (>80%) are successful on the first attempt.

Good luck, Dani! With all of the work that you've put into it so far, I'm betting (believe it or not) that soon you will be 'on top of the world' as well.

i did 10 questions a day for practice before nclex. i really paid attention to the rationale's whether i got the question right or not. did not let myself get stressed out until the day of the exam.

I hear you too. I just got my ATT today. I'm booking my test for the week beginnig 31st July.

I seem to have been studying forever. The house is a real mess & the kids are eating junk food while we eat take out! However, if I pass it'll be really worth it - especially for me as it's my ticket to the USA!

Lets hope it ends in success for both of us - hang on in there!

It sounds like you are well prepared - you have certainly out more time into studying than I did and I managed to pass. Give yourself a break this next week!! If you can't stay away from the books, hit areas that you know are the most difficult for you. Good luck - I am sure you will do fine.

Probably the best adviced I received was to not touch the books the day before the exam.... What sometimes can happen is that you stumble on something you feel you don't know "perfectly" well and find yourself panicking the day before you take the NCLEX.......

Take time to relax.... :)

When I studied for the NCLEX, if I was looking at a subject and when I read through the material and felt like boy I know this then I would skip it. When I had to put some thought into it like why something would be like that then I would read into the subject until I understood or it refreshed my memory. I didn't study that hard and passed the first time. Some people need to study more but alot of nurses I have talked to say they over studied! Better to over study then not enough though, GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the support everyone!

I came in last night just exhausted. Try to keep up my aqua aerobics class so I don't completely snap!!

Then today had 2 tests in final day of lectured Nurse orientation (I have been in lectures for 7 hours a day for the last 3 days) and I could care less about them. I passed, but I'm so tired of studying and testing and stuff.....AARRGGHH!!!! :angryfire

But I do appreciate the love on this site!

I'll keep you all posted....the BIG day is MONDAY!!!!
