Kids being sent down to me for nonexistent injuries that they received during recess. They aren't being sent during recess by the recess monitor. They are being sent after recess by their teacher. Obviously the monitor didn't feel it was necessary to send the kid to HR for an injury that isn't there, but the teacher does. They're driving me crazy today!!

... or, more accurately, they are fine for recess, have the "injury" appear when class has to start.

Exactly. It never hurts until math class starts!

I am so over middle kids coming to see me and then their mommies showing up before I can even finish my assessment because they have been texting ALL MORNING LONG. AND - they are c/o the exact same symptoms they had before school in which MOMMY did not give them any medication or even take their temp.
Why was it not a concern before school but it is now???????? The phones need to go. There is no learning being done, only texting!!!!!

So many kids text parent to take them home without seeing me. Probably half of those I send home. Then there are the ones who come directly from the bus to be sent home because if I send them home it is a legal absence. Sometimes Mom drops them off and waits in the parking lot for my call. Can you tell I am weary this week?

At least it is an easy and quick pick-up. I hate when they drop off their clearly sick kid so I can call them for dismissal and be told "but no one can pick them up today - can't they just lay down in your office until dismissal?"
We all know how we feel about that...
