I'm going to fail the NCLEX

Try to pass ATI first. NCLEX is a different game !

I never did that great w/ ATI. I averaged in the high 60s to 70s. I didn't do well on Community, either. I didn't stress over them. I just considered what my Predictor scores were. I got a 73% which gave me a 96% chance of passing the NCLEX. The instructor told me to study just two weeks, then take the NCLEX. That's what I did (studied Kaplan, though) and I passed in 75Qs.

You've got time since you're not graduating until Dec. If you're thinking about it now you're going to be FINE by the time the NCLEX actually comes around.

I DID take some advice that my friend gave me who took her NCLEX a couple of years ago. She told me to study, but don't OVERstudy because then you will begin to second-guess yourself. Towards the end of my 2 week "cram session" I noticed that to be true and my scores began to dip a little. So, I just started going with my FIRST choice.

I got a 74% chance of passing NCLEX on the ATI predictor, and I passed. You CAN do it!!' And to make you feel better, my best friend got a 32% chance of passing (eeeeek!) and she passed first try. Just study study study! Good luck sweetheart!

Calm thyself. This will make you fail better: I SUCKED at ATI. I'm pretty sure I got a level 2 on Community and managed a level 3 on Psych (my passion) but otherwise, I got either level 1 or below level 1 throughout my 4 years of nursing school, it was actually embarrassing. We had a final ATI med-surg proctored exam, and I was one of just a few people in my class to get a level 1 (80% of my class got level 2). For the ATI predictor, I knew nothing I was asked and I was predicted a 90% chance of passing, we retook it 3 months later and it upgraded to a 95% chance of passing.

Anyways, I passed the NCLEX in 75 questions. All I used to study was ATI, "Kaplan Strategies, Practice, and Review Book," and googled Kaplan Q trainers 6 & 7.

Even though ATI makes you feel completely incompetent, if you read rationales it will help! I hated ATI but I must admit, it was worth it. You have so much time to prepare for the NCLEX. You will do fine!

I agree with everything happynurse said. Most of the people I graduated with strongly disliked ATI during school and we all felt incompetent after anything ATI-related that we did. But almost all of us ended up passing NCLEX and in the end almost all of us were grateful for ATI. Do not get discouraged. Do not say you will fail NCLEX, stay positive, you can do it. You can always use other materials beside ATI to study for NCLEX when the time comes if you feel that ATI truly is not helpful for you.

Thank you so much for all the replies and words of encouragement! The ATI, from what I've been told, is the "big bad brother" to the NCLEX. In other words, it you do great at ATI, you will pass the NCLEX. However, ATI has this gift of making me feel completely incompetent in my test-taking skills.

I have heard great things about Kaplan. I will definitely look into that as well.

My advice is to do ATI in school but to study for the NCLEX I wouldn't with ATI. I did Hurts and passed in 75 questions. ATI is harder than the actual nclex in my opinion. Hurst prepares you better tho
