In my state, only RNs can initiate. I am the only RN in district. I was approached by my administrator about forming IHPs.. but this seems like an impossible task.
I am fully responsible for immunizations, immunization clinics, vision/hearing screens, growth and development, HIV education, training staff for medication administration and other procedures (straight cath, tube feeding), diabetes training and of course, first aid.
The administrator wanted anyone with a diagnosis of asthma, seizures, diabetes, heart conditions, etc to be on one. This requires me to write and meet with parents. I would estimate this would be over 300 kids..
I need advice on how to go about this.

What is your district/state policy on IHPs?
