How long has it been? In other BON websites, it takes up to 1-2 weeks before a response.

Good luck to you.

first week of january then i tried again on the 3rd week..

Maybe you should consider other states or wait a little bit more for more updates for Illinois. I heard that rumor also that they are already considering the IELTS.

This also happened about 1/2 yr ago when on june-july there were already reports of scrapping the CGFNS exem req't but formal/official announcements

were only made after the dealine of the CGFNS certification for Nov. so everybody already applied for CGFNS certification when it formally came out.

Good thing is the fee for the CES will be waived for those who applied for the certification.

thanx lawrence. ur a great help.:saint:

I am sure Suzanne has a competent response, but from what I know you dont need the English test for any BON. You need it for VCS and immigration purposes. I am taking IELTS coz TOEFL has 2 parts with the speaking test and I had TOEFL 4 years ago. It was long test and seems much more difficult than IELTS. This is just my opinion. Will tell you for sure after my exam on 11th of march :sofahider

Just wait for Suzanne's response to be sure.

Some BONs actually have language requirements and will not let you take the NCLEX exam until you have proof of passing the English exams. Some are TOEFL, and some are actually the TSE.

The reason that I always recommend the IELTS over the TOEFL series is that most have issues with the speaking part. With the IELTS, you get a human 1:1, with TOEFL, you speak into esnetially a tape recorder. Soem do not do well that way, especially the Filipinos. They do much better with the IELTS series.

Massachusetts has required the TSE, Maryland the TOEFL, Illinois the TOEFL.

California lists a requirement of passing the English exam but they do not ask for any documentation, the others do. There are other states as well.
