I am so stressed out about taking the nclex. Classmates who have already taken the nclex are stressing me out by saying that this is the hardest test they have ever taken and that they couldnt' even narrow their choices to two possible questions. I know this test isnt easy but I will be taking the nclex soon, will somebody please tell me something good about this test.

stress, stress, stress!!!!

When it is over and you find out that you passed they send you a nursing license.

Almost everyone walks out of that test feeling like they failed. It's just the nature of it. Relax, study, do your best.

Tanny, from my appearance at the front desk to leaving I took 45 minutes and 75 questions.

Chill. It's a test. That's all.

Good luck.

Ninety percent of NCLEX takers pass the exam on the first try. That should tell you something about how difficult the exam truly is. And remember, you only have to get more right than wrong to pass. Most people who pass, according to the NCBSN website, answer little more than 50 percent of the questions correctly.

Thanks everyone for the support.

I thought it was easy. I could narrow the answers down to two. If you have prepared you will do well. Relax the day before and pamper yourself. You will do fine.

I'm stressed as well, and I've taken Kaplan and completed all the Q bank and constantly keep doing questions over and over again, and also doing questions in Saunders.

NCLEX wasn't that hateful at all. Just do your best & read the question & all the responses before selecting a "correct" answer. If in doubt, GUESS.

You CAN do it!

I am not going to lie this test isn't easy, but you do what you can, you study prepare for it, call upon knowledge that you have learned through nursing school and give it your all and it will pay off. Try not to listen to your other classmates about this & that about the test because IMO, that only adds to the stress level. Good luck and have faith in yourself.

Don't listen to everyone who says the NCLEX is "the hardest test ever". To be honest with you, after all of my nursing school exams, I thought it was relatively easy...

Just do your practice questions, at this point you should know the material so don't stress yourself out knowing every fact. Get to know the questions, get used to reading them quickly and thoroughly, and mostly, just relax. The NCLEX is counting on you going in there stressed, and frightened, and not reading the questions carefully... that's how people fail, it's not because they don't know what they are doing, they just psych themselves out!

;) You'll do fine!

I'm telling ya, I was feeling the exact same way as you before I took the test. I had the worst anxieties. I took Kaplan, but wasn't getting 60% on most of my qbank questions til towards the end. I was like around mid 50's before, but I kept at it and I was was finally getting the hang of it that for my last 5 qbank tests that i did in blocks of 50 questions, I was actually getting 60% or higher. It felt good too being able to reach that like they said we should try aimin' for. I also used the Saunders, used the CD to answer questions. After I took the tests and quizzes off Kaplan and/or Saunders I'd immediately look up the questions I got wrong and reviewed. I found it helpful to use both review books to help me in looking up content that I didn't know or couldn't remember. Needless to say, I was busting chops for hours and hours and hours in a day for like 3 weeks straight with a day off in between q 3-4 days. I mean I had to, u could probably see the smoke coming out my ears by then and i needed a day off in between to rest my brain! But anyway, my point is... I studied and prepared very hard for the NCLEX. Although i had alot of anxieties during my preparation for it, I went into it with a mind set that I was going to give it my all to study and prepare for it and when the day comes for NCLEX, I should be fine... and I left it at that. I did pass with 191 questions. I seriously thought I had failed it when I walked out. I actually had tears in my eyes hrs prior to my receiving my results because I was thinking how hard I had studied and here I was that day about to find out that I had failed... but come to find out, as I logged on to the Pearson Vue site after entering my cc info to pay my $7.95 for my quick results...there it was next to my grade; was the word "pass"... so I guess all that hard work did pay off!!
