I cannot stand micro!! We took our first quiz and I only got 6 out of 10 questions correct and it makes me so mad!! Our first test is tomorrow (I know I should be studying) and I don't even want to pick up my book b/c it is so much to know! Give me back my BIO 207, 248, and any others out there PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for listening!

I know it is very hard and so much stuff in it. The first couple of chapter suck but I can promise you that once you get into the actual categories of the micros you will love it. Micro is very important to understand meds you are giving and why our body gets so sick from these tiny bugs that we don't see. I love the stuff I learned there. Try to get through this test and it will get very interesting. IF you haven't bought the study guide that goes with that book, do so it helps a ton and if it has a CD watch it all the time. Good luck;)

Have you tried supplementing the text book required for the course with other Micro texts? Sometimes I do better with a book or resource that I find instead of just relying on the course materials alone.

Well I took my test, I think I passed but I know I could have done alot better if I studied like I should have. Our instructor was really fair and asked questions that she talked about in class and had given examples about. I think I was just overwhelmed with 6 chapters of material with all of the new vocab. I'll make it b.c I want to be an RN.

Hang in there, jjt. And you are right, your instructor is very fair. Study hard and you'll "get it". By the way, what lab are you in? Monday, Thursday, or Friday?

The first test is the hardest in my school and then the rest I heard were easy or at least not as hard as the first one. Was yours a microscope test?

Take my final in Micro tomorrow - loved the lecture hated the labs. I can see why it is so important. I thought Physiology and Pathophysiology is harder.

Man, I remember Micro! I took it during a Summer Session, so the whole semester was crammed into 4 weeks. We had a quiz EVERY DAY, and an exam once a week. Plus, I had just had rotator cuff surgery so I only had use of one arm in lab -- THAT was interesting! (luckily, my free arm was my dominant one) Lucky for me, I was only working part-time at that point, so I'd go to work at 4:30 am, go to class at 8:30 am, go to lab, then have all afternoon to read and study. Due to the abbreviated schedule, there were some things we couldn't do in the lab (due to length of growth times for bacteria, etc.), so we actually got out of some assignments that we'd have had during the long semester.

Hope it goes well for you! It really helps if you have an instructor with a personality...

Wow - you sound like me! My first quiz in A&P I got a 6/10 - because I wasn't specific enough in my answers! Uhhhggg! I've never made a grade that low - Thank God it was only a quiz!

I know it can be tough - but just hang in there. I did struggle with some of MICRO, but found the class very interseting overall. It can get really interesting.

Well I took micro last term and I loved it! I guess i'm just wierd like that. I came out of the class with a 98%. Aced her final which she swears no one gets a passing grade on. LOL! I must admit the class was hard but it got easier. It helps if you do review sessions with your instructor (thats what I've been told) or go to various internet sites for more information. Trust me it does get better and more interesting near the end. LOL! All I can say is that I am glad it's over. I graduate this August 2007!!!!!
