This is an article on YourTango. I read the article and it seems she is not being denied healthcare, she is being denied in home child care.
I'm not an expert in military benefits.
It is an awful case. Even after reading that article I'm not quite understanding why this guy set her on fire and what his role was at the hospital. The article seemed to focus on his weight more than describing the events leading up to the incident. YourTango is not the best resource for information.

Man Convicted in Attack on Military Nurse
Don't know why the Army did not follow up on her complaints as they are the only ones who can answer that and being the Army, we won't be getting those answers. We also don't really know what the Army may or may not have done either, it could have even been a matter between the Army and the contracting company agreement. I do think this is sad to read. Even though her superiors did not seem to do anything, she did have the support of her coworkers.
Some men also just don't like a woman being their boss. just putting thoughts out there.

One might conclude that she is being punished for being vocal prior to the attack. That is not out of the realm of possibilities nor is it a possibility that is confined to the US Army as an employer.
