I got in!

Ok I got into the evening/weekend program ADN program at my local community college, I start this coming fall...any advice from fellow students? I'm extremely nervous and have heard from numerous people how challenging our program is...particularly the teachers! I've been working for that letter for 2 years now and am extremely nervous and happy at the same time!

Congrats!!!! I got in for this coming fall too! I'm beyond excited and scared too!! :) Good luck!!!

Congrats!! That's awesome:) Is this for CFCC? Mind me asking what your point count was? I didn't get in, but there are no hard feelings....I knew it wasn't gonna happen...I'm missing three classes so I think next year will be my year!

I've heard the easy part is getting in so Good Luck and God Bless!!

Not sure where CFCC is but I live in Iowa, I have a 3.8 (got a B in Nutrition because I was taking A&P1 the same time during summer and slacked off lol) I am in A&P2 now with an A, it is my last pre-req. Luckily I was one of 24 students to get in!

Congratulations!! I don't have any advice, just another newly accepted student who feels nervous too. :-)

Congrats to you!

Make sure get yourself a good pair of stethoscope.

Congratulations! I have no advice either as I just got accepted for Fall, also. However, lots of luck to you!!!

Congrats! :yeah: I begin my nursing program in the Fall 2012. :anpom:

congrats i got into my nursing program for the fall of this year as well. good luck to us all.

I just got accepted for the Fall program at my school and I just feel very nervous and unsure what to expect. Congrats to you too!

congrats!! Develop good study habits, and get a good care plan book to help you with your paperwork:clpty:

Congratulations!! I can't really offer specific advice since I also just got accepted into a nursing program that begins in the fall of 2011. However, before I got into nursing school, I did some work in an ER, and the nurses there gave me some good advice on what to expect and strategies for getting through. All of the nurses told me to prepare for nursing school to be hard, to prepare to study nearly constantly, and to prepare to deal with a lot of stress. They said that, at times, I would feel as though I knew nothing and would question why I even wanted to be a nurse in the first place. Mostly, they told me to put things into perspective, to realize that nursing school would only last two years, to try not to get too frustrated or discouraged, and to spend as much time studying as possible. Hopefully you are surrounded by supportive family and friends who will encourage you and give you strength during those dark moments that everyone faces during nursing school. On the flip side of this, one nurse told me, "getting into nursing school is the hard part; the testing, the prerequisites, and the waiting are enough to drive you insane. Once you're in, if you're really dedicated and want to become a nurse for the right reasons, you will find school easier than the process of getting in." Hopefully both of our experiences will be just like that nurse predicted. Either way, nursing school is definitely going to be interesting. Once again, CONGRATULATIONS!
