  1. Hi everyone, I will be starting my Med-Surg, Peds and OB next semester, and I need a care plan book for those topics. Could you guys please give me some suggestions on which one to get? I am a bit anxious about the next semester and I want to do well. My school is very big on care plans, and they give academic warnings if they are not happy with what you handed in. Thanks for your help in advance! Jingie
  2. Awesome, thanks for all your answers! You are great!
  3. Hi, This question is for the current licensed NP. Did you ever had this happen to you, when you introduces yourself to your patient : " Hello, I am xxx and I am a NP" and then the patient goes " Nurse Practitioner? I came here to see a doctor, where is my doctor?" How did you response to them? Thank you all for any input in advance.
  4. I think if you can afford the private school, then go for it. However, the states ones are perfectly fine as well. Now, if you have to take a loan on the private, please think twice, do you really want to see that student loan bill with lots of digits every month? It will take years to pay them off! You are totally right about the HR at hospitals, as long as you pass your NCLEX, they won't care which school you went or what grades you had. Good luck!
  5. Congrats to you! Make sure get yourself a good pair of stethoscope.
  6. i am envying you right now
  7. Good luck to you all! I already done with my Micro. and still have a spread sheet for bacterias and virus, if anybody wants it, contact me.
  8. LOL Great point! I have heard this one before for sure!
  9. I was born and raised in another country, although I doubted my abilities in the past, but you know what? I finished my Micro. with great scores, out of 25 student, I ranked #2, and I am the only non English speaking student in the class. So don't let this teacher tell you what you can or can't do, she sounded mean and nasty. If you need any help and tips, please let me know. Don't give up that easily, I am sure if this is what you really want, you can do it!
  10. I am very happy for you as well! I wish you all the best in your brand new career.
  11. You mean reply on the threads or actually post new threads? Sorry I don't know much about how this works.
  12. I will say CC as well, I had my AA degree in Business many years ago, so I transferred some credits. I had to retake A&P 1,2, Micro, a history class, a Psych. class but now I got accepted. so far I spent about $1600 on all of these classes, and by the time I finish everything, it will be another $3600, that's it! Hubby making too much so I had to pay everything out of my pocket, but still, it's all still super cheap.
  13. Hi, I don't know if you are a male or female, but no matter what, don't dress too sexy. especially if you are a girl, never wear short skirt or low cut shirt! Dress suits always works the best! Also make sure you are early but not too early for the interview (15 min.), and turn OFF your cell phone, don't even put it on vibrate. Good luck!
  14. Hi, Thank you for replying! It doesn't matter what type or what area, as long as you are a RN in PA, it will be fine. You don't even have to give me your real name if you want. I can also post the questions here and you can send me the answers via Email. I will be asking questions like: What is your everyday routine? Where did you get your education as a RN, what kind of certificate or diplomats do you have (RN, BSN)? Do you have any additional professional certifications (if you are an ER nurse or OR nurse)? How do you utilize the nursing process in practice? (Assessment, Diagnoses, Planning, Implementing, Evaluation) How does health care financing impact your role and responsibilities. (The health reform impact on hiring? Short staffing at your institute?) Please let me know if you are comfortable with these type of questions. I know you must be busy with work and family, therefore many thanks in advance! Jing
