OH MY GOSH!! I DID IT!! I passed the NET...did wonderfully in the interview and just received my acceptance letter mail to start in Sept 2005~Thank you Jesus!!! :crying2:

I would like to ask any of you that will take the time to "please" send ANY and ALL tips, hints or suggestions that will help me get a head start into the nursing program (like anything I can start studying on...etc). I'm not a spring chicken...more like a "crippled duck" :rotfl: and I want to do anything I can to give myself a boost if at all possible. I'm 43 yrs. old and this is a dream of mine since.....FOREVER, but never had the means or finances to go. I've been working on and off in nursing homes since I was 18. This is where my heart is. :icon_hug:

My "wonderful wonderful" husband has allowed me this chance and will be paying my tuition, all of our bills and has even allowed me to not to have to work for the next year. God bless him! He even fixed me my own "study" room so that I may have peace and privacy for my studies during my school year. I AM SO VERY BLESSED :kiss

Please, I am so excited and would again appreciate anyone taking the time to help. Thank you all so very much! :icon_hug: Barbara

"Please remember our troops in your prayers :heartbeat I have my twin sons there. They were deployed in November. Thank you for reading this and may God bless you and yours always! :)

Wonderful! CONGRATS!!!!!! :balloons: I wish you a ton of luck. Isn't it the best feeling in the world? You are at the right place. There are bunches of us starting this fall and winter. We are going to help each other out so much! Congrats again and I will be praying for your boys. God Bless them.

P.S. Please forgive, I'm sorry. I meant to thank you for the kind words for my sons and myself. That means alot. :icon_hug: Barb

CONGRATULATIONS!! I know how you feel, I start tommorrow, and wanted to get a jump on things, but I couldnt get my books until last week, so not alot of time to get prepared. I did go online and learn about drug calculations and math methods, I have huge math anxiety and that put my mind at ease. Reviewed A&P and some Patho. It has been my preoccupation for a few weeks know. Thank God for this website. I too have waited a long long time for this, It is kind of surreal, I wont actually believe that I am in, until tommorrow when I am sitting in class. I can't believe it. All good things come to those who wait! How lucky you are to have a great support system! Your hubby sounds like a gem. Know that your boys are true hero's, I will say a prayer for them. They must be so proud of their mom! Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I wish you the VERY BEST and GOOD LUCK TO YOU GIRL! Yes, it is kinda surreal and I won't believe it either until I'm sitting in that classroom...GOSH...I'm so excited! :p This is like a dream and I just pray that I have enough strength left in this old brain to absorb it all. God has blessed me with this, so I'm pretty confident that this is where I am meant to be, or it would have never been anything other than a dream. Thank you so much for your prayer for my sons. They are coming home this Wednesday for a 2 week stay. :crying2: I haven't seen them since November. Thanks again for your kind words and CONGRATULATIONS! :balloons: You'll do GREAT! GOOD LUCK :icon_hug: Barb

You will do great! I had the same dream for many years and also worked in a nursing home ( for 7 years) before I finaly took the big step into nursing school. I know God had it all planned out for me because it all went so smooth for me, everything fell right into place. I feel that it will do the same for you because you have wanted it for so long like myself. Pray, study and Pray somemore and you will do fine. You may want to get your books and start reading the first chapter and that will give you a head start. Also I learned that my first thought to an answer on a test question was almost always right. If you think to much about it you will make it harder than it is. I have been out of school for 3 years now and I want very much to get my RN now ( I am an LPN). I love it and my only regreat is I didn't do it sooner! Those that have been nurse aids make the best nurses. Hang in there it will be hard on your family because you have to put so much into your school work but, it's worth it. GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!

Thank you for the words of encouragement. They are much appreciated. Yes, I pray alot...and would have never gotten this far without the good Lord. I thank him for my blessings each night, for I am truly blessed in so many ways. You should go for your RN....what are you waiting for??? Sounds like you have your heart in the right place and you have God on your side...what more can a person ask for??? "YOU GO GIRL!!! " Life is too short to not have your hearts desire. Go for it! :yelclap: And I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do...~Thanks again for your words of encouragement...May God bless you & yours always! :icon_hug: Barb
