Hi everybody,
Well I got email that I did not get accepted for RN program I wanted. That was my first choice. Now I have to wait and see if I get into other school. I waited four months for this bad news. I am so disappointed. Maybe I will have to apply for a LPN program in my area too. I feel so bad.

I'm sorry.
Thank you. It was a lottery and they chose 30 applicants. They did say if someone declines they will randomly chose replacement. Wow! I am really banking on this.

I waited 2 and a half years for a lottery based program before I got in, you're not alone. Not only that, my school took in 60 students every fall and spring. Maybe you'll be more lucky than me and not have to wait as long as I did. Keep your options open, apply to all other CC programs (unless you are going straight for BSN and/or private). Last but not least, patience is a virtue. Keep yourself busy with taking other classes, especially transferable ones for your future bachelors, volunteer at a hospital, and/or find a healthcare job or any job in general.
I hope I don't have to wait two years. I am looking at another Adn program and I'm thinking about a Lpn program. I'm working on call as a Cna right now. I just feel so sad and disappointed. I guess I just knew for sure I would get in first time. I was not very realistic. The four months I waited to find out was agonizing and now I have to wait even longer. I spoke with nursing department about the selection process and the odds of getting in and she said hope for Winter 2017. I feel like I need counselling on this one because I am so sad.

It took me 6 years to get accepted. So don't give up. I applied to Georgia Perimeter, Clayton State, Georgia State, Gordon, Georgia Perimeter again, Gordon again... and then Eurekaaaaa! Gordon State College finally said yes. I was selected as an alternate after I hounded the school. I wrote two letters and stalked my advisors. I sat and talked with the dean twice. 4 months later they sent a letter in the mail and even called me saying I was selected. Before April 26th I cried several times about not getting in. My family gave up on me. I prayed. I gave up. I took time off. I switched majors. I gave up. Got a degree in Healthcare Admin. Cried again. Had a baby within those 6 years and look at me now. If nursing is your dream you have to stick to it. I'm 25 years old I think I'm getting old and that time is running out but I'm finally going after my dream. :) Keep your head up!
Thank you Minniemoo22 for sharing your experience. It is motivating and encourages me to stick with goal to be a nurse. I like how you said you wrote two letters and stalked your advisors. I didn't even think about talking with the dean. Wow! I will have to remember this as a last resort.

My program is Highline College.

That sucks, OP. Sorry about your misfortune. I really do not care for the lottery system myself. I would rather sit on a waiting list.
Look to other schools and keep applying. Something will have to give eventually.

Thank you for feeling my disappointment. I think waiting lists are better too. I am seriously thinking about applying to another program. I have to order all my transcripts because I did prerequisites at a few different colleges. Then I have to pay application fee and take entrance exam again. It is such a chore but I know I may have to bite the bullet and do it, It is a lot of work applying to different schools.
