I can't get a job!!!!

@JessicaGrossmanRN My advice to you is to not give up. Maybe applying at a nursing home (although you don't WANT to). It might give you the experience that they are looking for. The upside to that is that you'd be pulling in a check while gaining experience . Try a few online job sites, as well. But most importantly, as I've stated before, DONT GIVE UP. You made it this far!!! Congratulations!!!

@JessicaGrossmanRN No problem. Just do it to get your foot in the door and gain some paid experience. Then after 6 months, apply again. Apply at all hospitals, if you drive. You will get in sooner or later! Keep me posted, please!!

I'm willing to relocate too. I've been looking at VA postings because my license will work anywhere in them. Cross country, another country would be awesome! No kids or husband? Out of NJ!! Haha

I would recommend Long Island, they hire lots of new grads but they are strictly BSN unless you already work for the hospital when you get an ADN and enroll thereafter in a BSN. Also, new grad residency programs are strictly for BSNs without nursing work experience.

You just passed the NCLEX in January and was officially awarded your license in March...it really hasn't been that long since you were qualified to look for an RN position. Keep searching. Since you aren't willing to relocate, search harder (meaning everywhere - LTC, rehab, home health, hospital, etc.) in your area. At least you're working on your BSN.

You have excluded nursing homes so that is probably one of the reasons you don't have a job. Sometimes you have to start from somewhere. However, I hope that you do get exactly what you are looking for.

Look at LTC and LTACH. Without a BSN in hand you will likely continue to be rejected by acute care hospitals in the NY/PA/NJ metro area.

Sub acute rehab in LTC often takes patients that would be kept on acute med-surg wards. LTACH take patients that are ICU level care but can no longer stay in an acute care hospital with long term critical care needs.

Broaden your search if you wish to be successful.

I applied everywhere, and I do mean EVERYWHERE. I live about 45 mins from Nashville, and applied everywhere I could within an hours radius and when nothing happened started my search even further out. Finally found a job at my local hospital after over 7 months of applying :/
