I'm new to Allnurses and just found out today that I FAILED NCLEX. I am do devasted and feel like I let down my husband and children. I know the power of prayer and know that God won't give me more than I can bear but right now, with it still being fresh, I feel defeated. The battle may have been lost but the war isn't over. I need to get myself together for the next time. I am solicitiing any help, suggestions, prayers, anything to help me get thru to the next time. I'm in financial trouble so that makes this failed attempt even more painful. I haven't even told my husband yet I know he'll be supportive, but the embarrasment...

Welcome to the site
You have nothing to be embarrassed about and nothing to have let people down for. The exam is different compared to others and can be hard to prepare for People do fail the key is not to rush and resit and look at a good study plan.
There is much in this forum on the way of what worked for the member and you may be able to get something from that so have a good read and I am sure others will post soon

failing the NCLEX is not an embarassment at all..a lot of people have failed it more than once, not just you. don't let this failure bring you down. remain to be a positive thinker..this is not the end of the road. pull yourself up and get back on the road to sucess.
this time, it's best to set up your study plan. like how often you study in a day and how long. the resources you will use and when you will reschedule.
in this tough times it's not really good to look back on what HAS happened but rather to find ways and means to be better..dream big, aim high and work/study hard. but as my mom would tell me all the time, PRAY much more harder.
wish you all the best..

hang in there. i know what youre going through as i failed my first time too. when i failed i found allnurses too and here you can find so many people going through the same thing, tips, and motivational stories. failing is very hard to realize. but you will get through it. i recommend taking a week off to cry and be miserable before trying to get back into studying. but i know you can do it. i have faith in you. goodluck! and remember it's just a test. things will work out!

I fail the first time and took my second last week and 99% sure I failed the second time. The second time around I had prepared much more than the first. I was getting very difficult questions, tons of SATA, calculations, application and analysis. However it was not good enough for the computer and it send me to the 265 question mode. I run out of time with only 3 questions to go. As I read later if you run out of time the computer will decide pass or fail on your last 60 questions. This is a very important information to know (specially for those who go to 265). The problem is that if you know you are out of time, is most likely you will rush to the end thus causing you to perform poorly at the very end. This is exactly what happened to me. So my advice is: do each question as if the whole test depended on it. One at a time giving it as much time as you need. As long as you answer a minimum of 75 question withing the 6 hours you are alloted you should be fine. I am surprised I went through Kaplan twice and no one was able to tell me this important information.
What is SATA? I see alot of ppl use that acronym

SATA is select all that apply--the question may have multiple answers.

I am so sorry to hear that you have failed. I too failed my first attempt which was on June 22 2009. And I just took my exam the second time and passed it. The same will happen for you!!!!! Things happen for a reason, and God always gives us whats better for us.. I always think that my second time passing was better for me, so thats why God decided that. I wrote my story about how I failed and passed the second time which includes nclex study tips and advice. Im sure you will find it useful. Here is the link https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/i-passed-nclex-415221.html . God is great, and He will grant you your wishes. May he be with you , always. Good luck.
