I have no other choice!!!

Hi Guys

I am one of those nursing student who was desperately waiting to get out of the nursing school. Finally, my time has come graduate(May,09) and join with my husband. I am finishing up my BSN with 12 months internship(co-op) in critical care setting. Is there is any possibility for me to get a job in Framingham or Natick?. I am very desperate and I have no other option since my husband works in MA. HELP ME OUT... :banghead:

Specializes in OR-ortho, neuro, trauma.

I googled "hospitals in framingham" and came up with quite a few hits. Some of the jobs don't look like they require experience. I'd start contacting the hospitals/nurse recruiters now and see what you find out.

I'm not from that part of Mass so I don't know if they are hiring or just posting jobs and on a hiring freeze. A lot of Mass is on a hiring freeze, especially the closer you get to Boston. Too many nursing schools and not enough jobs in this economy.

Good luck on your search!

There are two hospitals in this system, Natick, Lenoard Morse and Framingham, Framingham Union, Looks like they have 48 jobs most are per diem. But per diem is a ticket to better positions. Living in Framingham, Worcester, Milford are not the fara away.

Thank you so much for the replies. I have seen some positions, but will they hire new BSNs for per diem?. Will FUH hire new BSNs, I dont even know any nurses in that area. Please help me out...

Why won't they hire a BSN? It is the new grad part you may have an issue with. What you having going in your favor is the 12 month Coop. Only one school does that ( North Eastern ) and it is looked on very favorably. I would play that up big time.

FUH is known for the Framingham Heart study, google it. Do you know if you are going to be living in Framingham ? Worcester is not that far also.

Specializes in cardiac rehab, medical/tele, psychiatric.

I would suggest calling HR (or the nurse recruiter) directly and asking your pertinent questions. If you have to leave a message, be sure to add "I know you are very busy, so if I don't hear from you by next week, I will try you again" or something along those lines because many HR departments have a reputation for not returing calls.

Metrowest Medical Center will not hire new grads for per diem

Thanks for the informations guys, I would definitely play the coop. Do you know if Metrowest have a orientation program?. I could not find that in the web..

I know I have seen a new grad position in the past. I don't think they ever have that many open to post anything on their website about the new grad orientation.

There are a few hospitals in Worcester which isn't too far of a commute.

I have already applied a couple of hospitals, even in Worcester too. None of them have any position specific for new grad. Have you heard about any New grad orientation program in any Worcester Hospital?. How about Newton Wellesely Hospital?, Is it hard to get hired in there?

Specializes in Tele.

Newton Wellesley will hire and does have a new grad program. Go to their web site and apply now. Good Luck!
