Can anyone give me any feedback about
hunter college of nursing in NYC? I hear it is very difficult to get in.

Hunter is, IMHO, one of the best nursing schools in the US.
I went to Hunter for liberal arts in the early 1970's.

Merry Christmas!! Yes, i am attending Hunter now and going to apply for their program in this coming March. Hunter's nursing program is really competitive and there are about 300+ students apply for it each year, and they will pick the top 80 students. Oh yea, i've heard from the nursing advisor that they are going to change their admission criteria next year w/ 25% based on GPA, 25% NLN, 25% Interview, and 25% on a writing sample.
Good Luck.
thanks for the info basixhcir!!! so i understand that only hunter students can apply to the nursing program? how do other people go about getting in? I guess by taking a pre-req?
You have to be a Hunter student first in order to be qualitifed applying to their nursing program. No one accepts to the program directly.

I am attending Hunter's RN to BSN program. It's a great school and it's nursing school is respected. I will be taking my last nursing class this Spring and should graduate this summer!
hi Ari, thanks for the response. I currently have a BA and MA in non-nursing fields, i would need to complete the science prereqs before applying anywhere, would you recommend getting the ADN first, or going straight for the BSN? Also- can you work while attending the program or do you have to attend full time? Any advice would be helpful! THANKS!
