Hello everyone,

I am planning on taking my exam in a couple weeks, and I would love it if everyone can share what they did to study, or what you are doing? How long did you study for? My school provided us with the virtual ATI, and I got the Kaplan strategies book, Lacharity book, and exam cram practice questions. I am trying to come up with a study plan, PLEASE HELP!

thank u great tips! Congrats!

:) you are most welcome!

Best of luck on yer exams :)

Study strategies are discussed in most threads in the NCLEX forum. Most of them involve some form of doing questions and studying the rationales.

questions and rationals...really that is the only way to go.

I have an iTouch, I used an ATI RN exam app. that seemed to me, to be closest to the actual exam than any other app. or book that I used.

I used the Saunders exam prep and would rip out chunks of questions with rationales, carry them everywhere I went, and study them at every opportunity where I had a couple of minutes. I did this for two months. I passed with the minimum number of questions. Best of luck!!

I was thinking about buying the ATI app, maybe now I will. thanks for all the tips. very appreciated.

i just took nclex rn on friday june 25th. i studied for 2 week straight. the week before the exam i literally locked myself away and did question after question from the mosbys review cd, davis review cd, and i also downloaded the saunders nclex rn review application on my iphone. the application was great with rationals and perfect for someones who is on the go. i also answered question lying in bed before i went to sleep. i honestly thought the nclex was over rated! it was a lot easier then i expected. i got 75 questions and couldn't believe how easy some of them were. i would recommend doing lots of practice questions and reading rationals. the only content review i did was on medications and isolation/precaution. it you are weak on delegation and priority questions i would recommend reviewing things that an rn can and should delegate. best of luck to you! :)

I saw your post before today and copied it for myself. Congrats!!!!!! How long did you study for exactly because I have an exa coming up in a few weeks too and need tips.

I also did questions before bed. I also have Saunders and Mosby's apps, which I used mainly when I was in school to study.

Study until you get at least 70% on your practice questions. Check out the NCLEX section, it helped me tremendously! We are so lucky to have such great support on Allnurses.!! Good luck!
