How long did you wait to bridge?

I had already completed most of the required prerequisites before starting my LVN program. I finished my LVN school in October and started school in Jan to complete my last prerequisites (10 credits) I took my NCLEX at the first possible date, which was December, and recvd my license in Feb.

My bridge program requires 6 months of experience, and applications are taken only 1-2 times per year, therefore, I worked about a year before starting my 1 yr bridge program.

All in all, I didn't take any intentional breaks, started LVN school in 2012, and graduated RN school in 2016!

That's a long time!!

Licensed as an LPN in 1986. Returned to school in 2009, received ASN degree in April 2010, passed NCLEX June 2010. So, roughly 23-24 years before going back.

My hours were slaughtered at the hospital so badly that I had a lot of free time to sit in a classroom doing prerequisites while doing an online nursing program.

Graduted LPN school in 2008

started LPN to RN in Fall 2011, graduated in Spring 2013 (I had pre-reqs to do in addition to the nursing classes)

started RN to BSN Fall 2013 , graduated a couple of weeks ago May 2016 (had pre-reqs to do, and it was a part time program)

Graduated from PN program in February of 1993, back then it took 6 months to do all the paperwork to sit for your exam and then get the results.

I went back to school summer of 2014. Had to redo pre-req's because I never had a "college degree" to keep them from expiring.

Went back into an ASN program (started in their second "RN" year, after being an LPN for 22 years) Fall 2015, graduated April, took NCLEX in May and starting my RN position on Monday.

Graduated LVN school in August of 2012. Had most pre-req's done, but they ended up lowering the minimum requirements. Applied this semester and am thinking I will get in to start in August, and graduate next August.

That makes 4 years from end of LVN to start of RN. Luckily, I knocked out all but 3 of my BSN pre-reqs so I will be able to start the BSN program as soon as I'm done with RN.

My mom graduated LVN school in 1994 (from the same professor I had 17 years later) and finished RN school in 2005 - so 11 years for her.

Its never too late.
