So I just finished my CNA course and clinicals and got a job working 2pm-10pm shift at the facility where I did clinicals. I start my orientation tomorrow and its only 4 days. Is that normal? And I don't believe I will be getting paid during this time either. How long was your orientation and did you get paid during it or not? Also, any tips for getting organized and staying on schedule?

1 week (5 8 hour shifts) and we got paid. If you are on the clock and have the responsibility of caring for residents, even if it is under supervision, you should be paid!

My orientation was 2 weeks in the classroom, 2 weeks on the floor; all paid. If you feel you are not prepared after yours, speak up and let them know. My hospital makes exceptions for people. The last thing anyone wants is a patient or employee getting hurt due to lack of training. Good luck! :)
