How do I interpret my NET score?

I took the NET today at Baylor and when I finished, they gave me a report with my scores, but they never told us how to read them (and I didnt ask because I assumed it would be self explanitory and left)

I still dont even know if I did well.

It says that my composite NET score is 84% then right beneath that, it says that my NET percentile rank is 94.

Correct me if Im wrong, but to me an 84 isnt that great, but 94th percentile isnt too shabby.

It sounds like you did really well. You scored an overall 84% (meaning, you got 84% of the questions correctly). That doesn't SOUND good, but the national average score for the NET is around 65%. Among all the test takers at your facility, you were in the 94th percentile, which means you did better on the test than 94% of the test takers at that facility.

Does that mean all the people who have ever taken the test at that facility or just those that were in my testing group? I was the first one to finish and they printed out my grade and handed it to me as I was leaving the room, so I dont see how that would work.

What is considered a "good" grade or one that will get me admitted somewhere?

Gosh, I don't know the answer to that. We didn't get our results until after everyone had taken the test, and they mailed it to us. So for us, I assume the composite percentile was based on that facility.

But now that I'm looking at mine, on the back it says: "Your percentile score tells how many out of 100 other people scored lower than you did." So that implies that they're just using national averages, rather than YOUR facility.

Overall, though, I'd say that's a very good grade, and if my school is any indication on the competitiveness of your school, you're in. Of course, that's assuming they only use the NET as the sole criterion. If they go by other factors as well, it would depend on those also.

That percentile is the average NATIONWIDE of people taking the test, not your own group or facility. A lot of people don't pass the NET, which is why your composite score is lower than the percentile you ranked in. 84% is your score. I got an 85% on mine. It depends on what schools you're applying to and what everyone else scored that is applying there, and what other factors that school might use, such as gpa. That's what determines whether or not you will get accepted. Hope this helps.

50% is passing. Approximately 17% of those who take the NET will not pass.

50% is passing, but our school wont accept below a 71 on math or a 61 on reading-and you only get two chances to take it, period.

I don't fully understand them either. All that I know is that I passed. Did anyone else have a problem with that "Art is Propaganda" passage, or was it just me? I had to ask a nursing advisor if I passed.

My school doesn't use the NET for admission but they still make you take it during the nursing concepts class. Then you have to write a paper about your strengths and weaknesses according to the test and how you'll fix the weaknesses.

I just got my net exam scores back at I took it in oklahoma at the indian capital. and it says that the National Average Percentile is 59% and National High Risk is 44% and ERI standard Score is 793...my overall Composite score was 58%.....I think i didnt do to good, but i think i did okay to get into the program. I was just wondering if I should take it again, but they look to see if you take it twice and it slims your chances on getting in the school! I made a 63 in math, and 52 in science reading. Preferene for admission will be given to apllicants scoring 59 or above in math and 51 or above in reading so i did okay..can someone tell me if this is a good enough score for my state of oklahoma or should i take it again?
