I'm thinking of taking a chem class at a school almost an hour away from my home, but I'm getting nervous. It will be on Sundays, which is one of my 2 days off from work. During Christmas, Sunday is my only day off. Am I being too ambitious? I work full time and have 2 little ones at home - I'm concerned about being away from them so much. I know it's only temporary. There's a school closer to me but I can't make the schedule work with my work schedule (does that make sense?) advice?

For the last 3 semesters I commuted to a school about an hour from me.....they offer far more night classes than the school near me and thats what I needed to work with my schedule. It was fine at first....I like driving and it didn't bother me.....by the end of this past semester I was BURNT OUT on that drive.....I transfered to the school closer to me (20 mins or so) for the summer and fall (and it's my first choice nursing program) and am relieved to not be making that drive 4 days a week anymore. I also have 2 kids at home....who have made a LOT of sacrifices in the last year for me to finish school.....I hate it...but in the long run it's beneficial for our entire family so we are going with it
it's temporary....and it may get old...but it's totally doable and will be worth it to get the class finished and out of the way....... honestly at first that hour drive each way was relaxing lol really the only "quiet" downtime I get around here

Good day:
One hour round trip.
Thank you.

It takes me about 35-45 minutes depending on traffic. It sucks but nursing isn't easy :) and definitely worth it in the end.

I have a couple of classmates that commute well over an hour each way, and they have kids as well. Sometimes we have to make hard sacrifices to achieve these dreams that will pay off in the long run. :)

30-35 minute range. But then again, I take back roads.
