You can do appeals for an insurance carrier or medical review. I did the 1st of the 2 I just mentioned but hated it. You are watched the whole time on your computer and tied down to a desk. I did not like the inactivity part of it all and wanted to be moving around. Some people think working from home would be great but be careful what you wish for. Good luck!

Like in a patient's home? Like home health? I did that for a bit, I worked at one patient's home 2 days a week. I really never went to the office except to drop off notes.

Otherwise I can't really think of any, the insurance and review jobs are tough to get as an LPN, they usually want BSNs at least.

I am just finishing the hiring process so, the input I can provide is very little. I do know LPNs are only permitted to work during the hours of 8am-8pm, and the pay is $0.25 per minute of call time. No benefits mentioned as this is a contracted position (W9 versus W4). There are no restrictions related to licensing in multiple states. You only need to be licensed in the US, unencumbered of course. Land line phone and internet required. Shifts are scheduled in 4 hour increments (i.e. 4a-8a, 8a-12p, etc). Feel free to ask any other questions you may have, but the website is pretty detailed. Also, I applied 12/1, phone interview 12/2, completed application documents 12/2, orientation pending.

Specializes in ER, MSU, ICU, FLOAT.

KDCRNBSN,

Can you give more details about the job now? I applied. Was the .25c a minute LPN or RN pay? Does the pay change at night? How about your feelings about the company and job?

Thanks. I would PM but can't yet.

The pay is the same for both LPN and RN. Yes, the pay at night changes to an hourly rate of $11. I have no complaints about the company (which will be Patientstar LLC not PFL Bio)

Are you still with the company Patientstar? I just did the initial interview and was reading through the info they send by email about the company/job. I want to give it a try but am still leery of the company. I can't find very much info on it anywhere. I guess that's better than bad comments but when I saw your post I wanted to see what has happened for you so far. Thanks!

Yes. I'm still working per diem with PatientStar. I have no complaints.

Not quite sure how anyone could recommend Maxim. Are you some sort of ringer?
