Holy SATA!

Took the Nclex today. Very first question out of the gate was SATA and.....it.....never.....stopped. Shut off at 75 and I would say 60 were SATA! No other alternative format question. I literally thought I was going to vomit on the car ride home. Got the good pop-up but will not completely relax until I receive my unofficial results and of course, it is a holiday weekend, so it won't be until Tues or Wed of next week!

Wow!!! That would be my luck! I completely stink at those!!! Fingers crossed for you!

That was me on Tuesday. Also, I have to believe the people who said, "NCLEX wasn't that bad" didn't have an exam with the overwhelming majority of questions being SATA. Still no results, either. :/

Oh wow!!!! I hear alot of people saying that they got a lot of SATA I like SATA I always did good with those and I only got 5 I was kind of bummed.

I took my exam this morning and also got at least half SATA with exam ending at 75 questions. I was having chest pain on the way home. Lol

The NCLEX test is Computer adaptive Testing. If you keep getting answers correct, then it gives you a little more difficult questions (primarily SATAs) the more SATAs you get the better you are doing. After 75 questions, and a lot of hard SATAs, if you have remained "above the line" then it will shut off and you passed.

This.

Relax and enjoy the holiday!

Same here. Out of the 75, 50-55 were SATA. It was my nightmare come true and doubly so since it was crazy heavy on pediatrics (which I know exactly sh*t about). Where was all my cardiac, neuro, even meds (!!!) - anything that I actually know! Getting the "good" pop-up but I don't believe it.

I took mine on Tuesday and had a ton of SATA and a few ordering ones. It shut off at 75. I felt like I bombed it when I got done, but I passed! Relax. If you're getting the good pop up, you most likely passed!

I could not believe how hard it was. I heard others saying it was not that bad but I guess it is all relative. Update when you get your official results so I can officially congratulate you :)

I dont think getting a lot of SATA means you are doing good. I know people who got tons of SATA and failed. I on the other hand only got 5 and passed so I don't know why people think getting SATA means your doing well or means those are harder questions. I think the test sees your weakness and goes off of that which is probably why I only received 5 because I am good at SATA so therefore it didn't need to keep testing me on those. I do have a weakness of putting in order steps and that is probably why I got more of those than SATA.

Thanks, PennyS, but I really don't think I passed. I'll update though just so everyone knows if it really is possible to get the good pop up and still fail.

I agree with you, MLW84. It definitely identified my weaknesses on pediatrics and SATAs immediately and pounded me until I was done.

OP you had said "Got the good pop-up but will not completely relax until I receive my unofficial results and of course, it is a holiday weekend, so it won't be until Tues or Wed of next week! "

If you're talking about the Quick Results..although they say 48 business hours..results are available on weekends and holidays. I took both my NCLEX PN on a Friday and my NCLEX RN on a Thursday..I was able to get my results on Saturday and Sunday. I have a friend who got her quick results on July 4th which was not only a holiday but a Sunday that year.

Take a look on Saturday, I'd be willing to be they will be available.
