The HESI you take before entrance in the program only covers math and reading skills. It isn't the same test you take when you graduate.

The library at your school should have a study guide you can review. It shows what kinds of questions you can expect on the test, but as for preparing for the test I didn't find it all that helpful. What helped me score higher on the entrance HESI was to audit a remedial English class. It helped my reading comprehension tremendously.

Good luck!

I have to take the Hesi A2 next month. My school tests on the Math, English, Reading, Vocabulary, Chemistry, Biology, and A&P sections. Its a different test then the Hesi exit exam which deals with nursing issues.

WOW! I must say i'm impressed!!!

HESI was a requirement during the 2nd to the last semester of nursing school and it was taken as a quiz grade for one of our classes. Then, It was also a requirement during the Last semester of nursing school. at first we had 2 chances but since about more than half of the class failed, they opened up another test date and so we ended up having a total of 3 exams. NOW, THIS HESI exam at our school, was kind of like NCLEX. Priority questions, check all that apply questions, nothing like what you all have mentioned, no english grammar, anatomy etc. I'm talking NCLEX style questions. Delegation, Management of Care, etc etc.

We had to score 850 in order to pass and graduate. If we didnt pass with 850 or higher we wouldn't graduate. We would be allowed to walk at graduation with the rest of our class but we still needed to come back for another semester to take a "remedial" course.

You all are lucky! HESI was terrifying and traumatizing. :chair:
