1/5/2018 HESI A2!!

Alright, I'm taking the HESI A2 in less than a month from now. I have a few questions regarding this exam.

1. How difficult is the math? Is is just like the math that's in the pocket prep app?

2. The A&P? I got told it's the most problematic section for most students. I have been using the pocket prep app like crazy studying.

3. How about the grammar & reading comprehension. I feel those are the easiest subjects for myself but I know they can be tricky. I also been using pocket prep.

My school is requiring math, grammar, reading & A&P, along with the critical thinking.

Im wanting to pass the first go around. Help?! I will be glad to post my scores after the test to help anyone out.

Yes the calculator is built into the exam. They also give you scratch paper.

Hey guys! I was wondering for the grammar section was there vocab in it? I know in the books there is a separate section for vocab so I wanted to make sure.

As far as I know, from reading and asking other test takers there is not any vocab on the grammar section.

Thank you so much! I've been worrying about this part.

I would look into getting the pocket prep app, buy the full version! (it is the purple app). Hope that helps!

I am freaking out myself but I will start studying today and take it on 2-5

I just took the test last month and I bought the full version of the pocket prep app and answered all the questions. It lets you mark the ones you miss so you can go back to them which was nice. I also bought two prep books, the Mometrix one and the Elsevier book. They were both really helpful but I think the pocket prep app helped the most. With that being said, DO NOT JUST USE THE APP! The A&P questions are much more in depth I thought than the ones in the pocket prep app. I also used old class notes to study the endocrine system, nervous system and some other things. There was a couple very specific questions that asked about flow direction of blood through the heart and one that asked about the origin of earwax so just relying on the pocket prep app would be a mistake.

The math is really really simple math. Most of it you can do in your head but I did double check everything with a calculator. There were a lot of percentages and fractions so just take your time and make sure you don't just rush through and you will be fine. I sometimes struggle with math so I was worried about this part but I got a 98%.

My best advice is to not just use the pocket prep app (although it is amazing) and don't wait until the last minute to study. Good luck everyone!!

Good ADVICE!!! I will update with my scores. I take it on 2-2-18.

I am also taking my exam on 2-5. The closer it gets the more uneasy and unprepared I feel. My school requires a 75% on math, grammar, reading and vocabulary. I have failed the HESI twice but the curriculum has changed both times that I have taken it so this time my focus is mostly on math because I have done well in the above subjects in the past. Where are you taking it? Good luck!

Hello! I have taken the HESI a2 twice and failed it both times. The curriculum has changed both times that I have taken it. My school now requires a 75% in math, reading, vocab, and grammar. I have failed the math portion both times but have passed the other three with high scores. The curriculum before was to have a cumulative overall score of 75% but now it is just depending on these four scores. I feel confident about everything but math and I am studying out of the elveiser exam book edition four. Any other tips on what to expect for the math section? and I also have the full version of the pocket prep app. I just want to feel confident before going in on the 5th of February. Thanks :)

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! :)

I have been using the Elveiser book and pocket prep as well, I been scoring high 90s on the math section using the pocketprep app. I am hoping the math is similar to the questions asked on the app? I also been told there are lots and lots of ratio and proportions? is that true? and since you took it twice already, what will I need to focus on? I hope you pass!! let us know!

I am taking my test for the first time on the 2-5 in Macon,Ga and I must be honest about studying...really haven't had time with classes but I have the full version pocket prep app and I've answered more than 1/2 the questions
