If I were you I would contact my state board of nursing for that information. Ever hear of CE Broker.com? Its a great way to track your CE's and they update you on a regular basis on what you need to renew. It also states each states requirements for licensure and recerts. Hey any idea how to close out these threads??? I have an old one from 2003 I want to close. Can you help?

Get the credits and get them now. Don't try to fake out the Board. You'll be in more trouble. You have sufficient time to do this because you are going to make keeping your license, your livelihood, your only priority until you get it done. Do it online, do it in person, do it in your sleep. But do it.
Just curious, what kept you from doing it before this? But the real issue is to get it done NOW. Good luck.

Never, ever lie to the BON, because if they find out they will not be happy. They do not take kindly to document falsification.
Well, ty to all for the input. Now I am scared for sure though. I don't want to loose my license, or have them suspended. I will try to contact the site given to me by Tweety. I haven't already done it because I am the biggest procrastonator there ever was. And, I haven't worked on a regular basis in quite a while. I don't even know how many I need at this point. I think LPN's are required to have 15 a year, but not sure about it. And, I haven't worked anywhere that offered them free. My finances are limited at this point because I have just went through a divorce. So, kind of a hard time for me right now, financially I mean. I really thank all of you for your response to this. I will see what I can do about it now. Thanks again.........longtime nrs..........Rhonda

Part of the responsibility of being licensed is knowing the nursing law and the requirements to maintain active licensure. I don't know that I'd want a nurse who doesn't even know their own state nursing law to even be practicing on me or one of my relatives, let alone the innocent public. Several states have now made it mandatory for nurses to take a one hour continuing education unit as part of the continuing educational requirement for every license renewal period for this very reason. I used to think it was a little weird. Now I understand why. I am appalled.

There are ceu's available in 1 shot - i am finishing a self study packet for 30 ceu's and their charging me about 40 dollars. Sure -you're essentailly just buying the credits - but it does take quite a while to complete, it is accepted by my state and quite a few others as well and is also accredited by ANCC
