thanx sue i appreciate that i put it there by mistake and didn't know how to change it. still figuring things out here.

Don't let your age stop you. Here's one way to look at it: You're still going to be 43 in a couple of years. You can either be 43 and a nurse, or 43 and not a nurse.

don't use your age to gauge what you should. if it is something that is your passion then i say go for it. i'm 40 and just graduated. i was also 6 months pregnant with a very high risk pregnancy, including severe hypertension, and insulin dependent gestational diabetes. i even passed boards. trust me my body is tired too. there were some days after clinicals i had to come home and lay down for awhile. my husband helped out a lot. i also have a 5 year old and a 6 year old. the 5 year old is a special needs child. she has tons of appointments, and meetings about her school and the therapies. you have to manage your time when you have a family but certainly age is not an issue. there were several of us "non-traditional" students. in fact there were more "non" then there were "traditional". i say go for it.

Hello helpingismypassion,

I am 44 years old and just graduated this May with my LPN. I was a medical assisstant for 12 years and always wanted to be a nurse. Don't let your age stop you, you are young. Age is only a frame of mind. I say go for it,you will be glad that you did:)
