Hey All,
I'm a new graduate (BSN) and I haven't taken my N-CLEX yet. I called the Boards yesterday and they said it would take another 4 weeks until I get my Authorization To Test (ATT). So, since I haven't taken and passed my N-CLEX yet, no hospitals in the city will hire me. So, I'm thinking of becoming a nursing assistant at a hospital per diem because I need to start making some money. Do you think this is a good idea?
Also, does anyone know of any hospitals that take new grads directly in to the Emergency Department? Thanks all!

Does your state not have Graduate Nurses (GN's)? Also, all of the ER's in my area (including level 1 Trauma ER's) hire new grads.

I think it's a great idea. I picked up a NA position a coupl months before I took the N-clex and it really get you comfortable working w patients!!
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am specifically looking for a job in NYC.
