Help! I was accepted to nursing school but...

I just went to the mail box and got a thick envelope from the University of Memphis. I opened it up and it says " We are pleased to inform you...." But the problem is I don't have one of the pre requisites. It's calculus and the others are classes I do not have at my current school and there are no transfer equivalents except for the calculus which I could not have taken this semester because of the prerequisites for my school. I am taking statistics this semester which is a requirement for most of the schools. Please someone tell me if you know anyway I can take this class quickly before the Spring semester gets here. yes, I'm going to call the school and see if they can make an exception and let me take it along with the nursing courses.

They accepted you into the program without all of the pre-reqs?

Wow, I'm not sure what to tell you. I don't know of any open-enrollment calculus classes anywhere!

(Why in the world do you have to take that class anyway? Good grief!)

Congrats on your acceptance anyway!! Is that the only school you applied to?

Can you CLEP it???

Could you take it via distance ed like through texas tech ot UT Austin?

Or does the local community college have a winter-mester like ours do here?

Could you take it online through an open enrollment program?

Try Clepping it if you can. Congratulations to you :balloons:

Fun 2 Care, I am supposed to have it done by the Spring semester. They have session II classes that start Oct. 19th, but Memphis is three and a half hours away. There are no online versions of these classes. I have no idea why they want calculus, but I'm IN and I am desperatly trying to find a way. I called and the only clep they accept are Algebra and Triginometry. I can take clep at my school (MTSU) , but according to the woman I talked to, they don't take clep calculus, which I'm not sure I'm ready to take anyway. I applied at four other schools Austin Peay and that letter will be mailed tomorrow, so I will know by Monday, but hopefully Saturday. I also applied at the school I go to now and will know that by the end of Oct. ETSU will be sent out by the end of Oct. and Columbia State has a two year waiting list I am already on. My last option is to do a credit by exam, which I am waiting on a phone call to see if I can do that. I prayed that I would get into all the schools I applied to and I see now my prayer has been answered, I got into a school I can't actually attend!
