I moved your post to the NCLEX Discussion Forum for more feedback. Good luck to you.

I'm sorry beanieweenie...I do not have any advice for you either on how to study for the NCLEX. I took mine this week and trust me I had studied my butt off ever since graduation in Aug and feel nothing, notta thing could have prepared me for those questions. I thought that was the hardest test I ever took. But all I can suggest for you is this...pick yourself up, wipe yourself off and get back on the horse. Try again. Don't be disappointed in yourself and don't let it drag you down.

First of all, do you actually have your results? most people leave the exam feeling like they failed, so if you don't know yet, don't panic.

Second, if you did fail you should have received a report about what level you're at and what you need to work on. Saunders is a great book, so maybe your study plan needs work. Check out the NCLEX forum here for some great tips about systematic ways to study.

Do alot of practice questions! That's how I studied. I just did 100's of questions, and passed! Good luck!

Also, when doing the questions, be sure to read & understand all the rationales...especially on questions you missed or were unsure of but still got right. Since you already have Saunder's, you have the best study tool on the market. For myself, when it came to practicing questions, the disc was more helpful than the book. There is nothing that's like the NCLEX, but if you know your content & understand critical thinking, you'll pass. Good luck to you! :icon_hug:

I second this!!! I also found the Kaplan question bank helped me a lot. Just keep doing questions and understanding them until no end!

Pick yourself up. And get a game plan and you can do it again.

Im also speaking from experience of not passing the first time. Did it the second time without any doubts.

I also think the above are right. :) Saunders was a really good book (and CD) for reviewing content. I also used the Kaplan question trainers and question bank. Kaplan was really good in practicing critical thinking type questions. I wish you the best of luck for the next time. :icon_hug:

Hi Beanieweenie,

Please don't give up, take some time off, and then get right back to studying! I failed the NCLEX twice. I passed the 3rd time using Saunders, suzanne4 has a study plan that takes 6 weeks after you've completed the book, look at her first tip post at the begining of this forum. I didn't have time to do her plan and I only read through the questions/rationales of a little more than half of the book. (but it's the most I've ever read besides the Bible). I have faith that you'll succeed the next time you take it! Have faith in yourself, visualize your success, study (a different way this time) and most importantly PRAY! All of the best to you! :nurse:
