hi guys,
would appreciate if you could help me with an assignment. have to do a case study on a patient admitted to the emergency room with an acute asthma attack. must outline the key nursing interventions and have an in-depth analysis of 3 nursing priorities.

hi,
thanks for replying, i was thinking along the lines of
monitoring vital signs patient may have increased heart rate and increased resp rate and decreased o2 saturation, administering O2 and meds as perscribed to relieve dyspnoea and monitor the effectiveness of same, giving psychological support to the patient?????????

Don't forget to position your patient to ease their work of breathing/chest expansion.

Why would you have a decreased O2 sat? You need to include that as well. And what can be done to increase it. How would you position your patient? How would you administer the oxygen?
What meds do you think that they may receive and then what would be the rationales behind them?
