:balloons: Hello Allnurses!

It seems like an eternity since I've had the time to post and read on my favorite nursing website! I miss it like crazy!

I've been on assignment as a travel nurse here in sunny Southern California for almost three weeks now, and though I'm not pleased with the company I traveled here with, I am very pleased with the unit staff I work with! They are superb nurses, and truly believe in teamwork and supporting one another. They are very encouraging, and very upbeat as a staff! Hooray to all of them! It FINALLY feels good to work with a great bunch of nurses who love nursing and exhibit professional encouragement no matter what! That is something I never experienced at the hospital I worked at last year. I'm glad this assignment is working out for me thus far, and I look forward to moving on mid-June to an assignment in Indiana so I can spend the summer months there with family. I miss those pudgy little sweet smiles of my grandbabies! :kiss

I happen to have today off, and instead of watching "The Soaps", I'm here with all of you! Aint that grand? :D Anyhoo....just wanted to say "HEY" to all of you! Have a great day everyone!

I'm glad you are overall enjoying your travel experience. It really does make all the difference in the world when you have a teamwork attitude, and not a every person for themself, good luck attitude. May I inquire about the name of the company you are traveling with? So are you finding that the pt:nurse ratios are working at your facility, or do they fall short?

Glad you are enjoying yourself, Renee! :)

Hello Everyone! :balloons:

Thanks for the warm cheery kudos! :)

I am slapping on all the SPF 15 I possibly can everyday so this hot desert sun doesn't get the best of my skin. I'm liking the new tan I'm getting though, and I'm not even laying out in the sun to get it. It's THAT hot!

AFTER....I complete this assignment, I will be happy to share the company name I work for, but until I leave here I will not slam them other than to say I will not travel with them again. Ask me again after mid-June! :nurse:

The STAFF does indeed make all the difference! As for the nurse-patient ratio where I work, we have six patients per RN. The nursing assistants are fantastic, and are johnny on the spot with their work. It's good to work with such wonderful nursing assistants, too! No lazy ones to date that I can think of! They've all been just super to me.

The nurses are very helpful and friendly. I wouldn't mind returning here in the Winter months, but no way will I suffer through the mid 100 degree temperatures this summer. They tell me I'll just be escaping the real hot temperatures since I leave mid-June.

I'm hoping to go to Indianapolis from here to spend the summer with my oldest daughter, her husband, and seven children which is why I'm working on an assignment there. If anyone knows a good place to work in INDY let me know. :)
