head nurse interview

I wanted to see what you all thought of this. I have had three interviews already for this position. I have two more interviews on Tuesday with another 30 people. Then I have another one with the docs. I think interviewing with almost 50 people by the time I am done is excessive. Has anyone ever seen a person have to jump hoops like that?????

Wow, Ren... That DOES seem a bit excessive ! Sheeeeesh !

But it also gives me a sense that you have a pretty good shot at it ! Kool. Give us some details ! Where? What unit? Doing exactly what? Hours/days? Y'know.. give us the GOODS ! :D

Let us know more just as soon as you hear ! Good luck ! :)

Thanks for replying Jnette. It is a hem/onc unit at an inner city hospital in Columbus. They do not do BMTs. Historically I guess the staff have been through you know what and they are being very picky about who they hire. There are three candidates. Two have head nurse experience, BS prepared and no oncology experience. I have 6 years oncology experience and BMT experience which I was told no staff there have BMT experience so that is a boon for me plus I got my MS which is good. They have said they are very impressed with me but hey you know that could be lip service LOL.

Wish me luck and I will stop back after the interviews and let you know how it goes.

I think the most staff I have even managed was 150 or so.

WooHOOOOOOO !!! Sounds promising, Ren, and you definately have things in your favor. I'll be keeping all toes and fingers crossed for you. ;)

GOOD LUCK! (and yes, that does seem like a lot of hoop-jumping to get a position; you must want this badly). Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks Jnette and blue eyes. I do want it bad. I really love my current job but my company is looking at leaving Ohio due to the recently dropped Medicaid reimbursement rates so that is why I am looking as they recently did leave another state and the employee got a call that day telling her she was out of a job. I really do want the job. I love helping make a nice place to work for people as well as getting back in touch with nursing care.

Good luck renerian. Does sound like you have a good chance at it.

Hey Best of Luck to you renerian! You hang in there, and don't sweat the interviews, because you seem to have it all going for you!

*claps hands excitedly*

You have grit, girl. I would be a wreck after that many interviews. I wish you luck, but it does sound as if you will get this job if the interviews go well.

Renerian,

It seems to me that you have an excellent chance for obtainiing this position!

As far as the excessive interviewing goes, it makes me think that if you get the position then everyone and anyone who would have wanted to would have had the chance to say "no" before you were hired. Kind of like when the minister says "Anyone objecting to this union should speak now or forever hold your piece." So, if you are the candidate they choose, I'd believe you have the support of nearly everyone in the facility!! That would be great!

That much interviewing does seem a bit excessive though, I agree.

Best of luck to you!

Good luck - I must admit l beleive that it seems very excessive to me - However everything crossed for you - Do you think that when your there a year we can find a conference out this way for you to go to (Paid of course) for you to visit - Particularly up Coffs Harbour -

BTW - Did you know that Russell and Dannielle are having baby in Jan - Also his band is currently touring - coming to my town - No l am sorry - didnt get tickets (Saying cery quietly wasnt really interested)

Anyway Ren - GOOD LUCK
