Have you been accepted to more than one nursing program?

Published

i'm always reading about posts from students that are biting their nails waiting to get accepted into a nursing school but has/had anyone been accepted to more than one school and had to choose?:nurse:

what schools were you accepted to and which did you choose and why?

I only applied to one, but if I don't get in, I'm going to apply to at least 5 this fall. But praying to get in!!!!!

I had to apply to 2 different schools because my top chose is more competitive. I won't know until march about either.

I applied to all of the nearby programs, was accepted at each, and went with the one that was a BSN program.

I only asked this question because so many folks don't get accepted to any program and then there are those outstanding students that get accepted to more than one. Congratulations!

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

I applied to 1 program last year and was waitlisted. This year I applied to 6 schools, and not only did I re-apply to that program and get in, but I have so far been accepted to 2 other schools and waiting on the remaining 3. But it will all come down to finances, so in all honesty it may not be a matter of choosing between programs.

Dont you have to be a student of the school before you can apply to their nursing programs because ive tried talking to schools with the program and thats what im being told!

The only schools for which I am aware of this being true are the colleges in the City University of New York (CUNY). Otherwise, no - one may apply as transfer students into a nursing program (provided one is accepted). Accelerated programs MIGHT sometimes give preference to their own alumni (unfair I think) but one does not have to be a student there beforehand.

Let us know where you decide to go.

I applied to 8 ABSN programs and 1 ADN. I've heard from 3, got accepted (knock on wood), but still waiting on my top choice.

Specializes in CNA.
