Group One

I cannot find a way to contact or locate Group One.

Since I have left a bad job where the supervisors and nurse managers pretty much did what they wanted to you without any kind of controls (yikes!), I have some realistic concerns about what may have been reported about me.

I googled. I searched here.

I did find one post from to day that mentioned Group One, and I emailed that member.

But if someone out there knows how to find out "what they're sayin' about ya," I'd sure like to know about it. It probably ought to be included in a link someplace on this board.

TIA! (not the "mini stroke" kind :lol2: )

Thanks, mydesygn. It is just this one organization that does not respond to my inquiries. But considering they cover over 100 doctors it means a lot of jobs - in doctor's offices and clinics anyway.

Maybe I am being paranoid, and perhaps they aren't happy that I just stayed in a position for a couple of months. In any case, I won't worry about it as long as it doesn't sound like Group One is hovering over me, waiting for something to blackball me with.

Appreciate your response.

I'm thinking very seriously of sending an e-mail to Texas Governor Rick Perry to inform him of my intention never to work as a nurse in Texas. It's a bit hollow, I know, since I wasn't likely to, anyway. I'm happy where I am and likely to retire here, but I do enjoy knowing that I could find work just about anywhere in the country.

At any rate, Texas is off my list. It strikes me that if they were off enough nurses' lists, they might find it advantageous to adjust their attitudes.

Don't judge all of Texas based on group one in DFW.

As some of the nurses in California are fond of saying, Calif isn't just a liberal bastion; it's very diverse.

Same here.

I do very well in TX and I don't work for a GO facility.

Trivia: what do Cali and TX have in common? They are the only States that used to be Nations.

~faith,

Timothy.

I would like to talk to you privately and I sent my contact info.

Please contact me off the forum.

Group One was created in 1989 by the DFW hospital council. Internet will probably be the salvation and making very public their track record. Getting involved with your representation would be a good idea that affects your nursing practice and the US healthcare system.

I have witnessed Group One being notified when a nurse didn't show up for orientation and was blacklisted in every member hospital. Look at the list more than 70 in the DFW area and networks to other Hospital Associations. This list lasts more than 7 years because there are different laws about incomes of over $30,000 per year. Never get off it. Somebody correct me but a Texas JD/RN gave me that info.

Group One lists your salary at every hospital you worked at and at the current hospital. Tracking method and tool for controling salaries. I hope the HCA class actions suit will do something and open a door. Been waiting 20 years.

Every place is different but you need to know what your employment records say. Get new application form your old employer and see if they use consumer credit report.

Group One is for profit because it is a Hospital Association doesn't mean they do love the dollar and market it as a revenue generator to "SAVE THE WORLD FROM NURSES THAT ARE EVIL" or just nurses are blacklisted by events that are vindictive not professional.

You need to know how to care for your employment record like your credit report because this money out of your pocket.

Send me contact info and I will send a nursing magazine artical about Group One and explain FCRA to new grads that will be a important as passing your boards. The BNE has not say over this situation but you need info and control of your professional future. You and your classmates need this info. Good for you for networking. Your quote abour what good nurse is so true.

Yeah ... I noticed that on their website also. They DO track salaries ... I guess there might be something to those wage fixing lawsuits afterall. The more you learn about this, the worse it gets.
