Graduation and taking the boards

Hi everyone

I was wondering how long did it take before you were able to take your boards after graduation. When were you officially allowed to sit for the NCLEX after you graduated? If anyone remembers this it would be a huge help to me.

thanks in advance

Well here in AZ it took about a month and a half from graduation for the State Board of Nursing to get our diploma and put the paperwork through. I think it pretty much varies from state to state though.. What state are you in? In my case it only took one month from the day I mailed out my licensing info until I sat for my boards..

NY, i spoke to a few people i know and they told me its pretty fast as well.

thanks for the reply.

I graduated Dec 16th '08 and had my ATT by Jan 5th '09 (i had to call them as I got my letter from the BON telling me I can sit for the exam but Pearson Vue misplaced the letter. I called and they checked and e-mailed me the ATT the next day). Took NCLEX Feb 3rd and am now an RN. =)

Here in CA I submitted my paperwork to my BRN in November (since we can sit for the exam before our files are complete). Graduated December 20th, 2008. Got my paperwork the first week of January 09. Took the NCLEX-RN Jan 20th. Found out last week that I passed. :)

I graduated December 11th, and took my boards on Jan. 6th. Started my new job last week.
