Congratulations! :) For those of us in the US, could you tell us a little more about what a health visitors course is and how sponsorship is involved?

Health visitors here in uk is a nurse who cares for babies from 12 days old to 4 yrs. They monitor development checks, give advice on different topics, hold clinics, offer support., health education and promotion. They generally ensure all is well till they start school.

The sponsorship is when a trust continue to pay your wages whilst you are training and once qualified you are expected to work for that trust for at least 2 years. I had sponsorship from my trust when i did my paediatric nurse training, the wages are much better than the bursary that that the government give you.

To get sponsorship you have to attend an interview and do a presentation and have good references. So sponsorship is very difficult to get. I am still waiting on hearing to see if i have an interview. It has been a week now and heard nothing :o I am still keeping my fingers crossed. :)
