Getting the runaround...

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I attend a local community college and after this semester I will be done with all of my pre-req's. The college I go to is in transistion on their nursing program (they are waiting on state approval for their transition) and won't tell anyone how many seats are being offered, and won't even give a definite answer on when applications for Fall 06 will be available- first it was march, then april, now maybe may! How do they expect students to be in limbo for that long. I am seriously considering going to another school that is over an hour drive away, or even possibly going to an LPN program that is also close to my home.

I am frustrated b/c I have put a year into the school and they seemed to really have it together when I enrolled there... now it seems like no one has the answers. Has anyone else run into this?? It's just frustrating.... thanks for listening.

What a bummer! Definitely apply elsewhere, it might be a while t'ill your school gets their act together! Keep bugging them until you get answers....:) Good luck

where do you live?

The school that I am applying to encourages us to apply to multiple nursing programs, since they are all impacted. Good luck!

wow! i can definitely relate. i would take nursemelani's advice and apply to other schools. i'm dealing with unorganization at my university as well and i am seeking other schools because of it.

I live in Bellevue,Ohio.... Thanks everyone for the advice- I think I am going to apply to different schools.

I applied to a tech school before enrolling at my local CC. (Was going to take the LPN class then do the bridge at the CC) The tech school NEVER called me back, even after I had paid to take the entrance exam. I never got a call about an appoint to take the test and nobody ever returned my calls requesting information.

I took it as a sign that this wasn't the place for me and moved on to the community college I attend now.

Maybe something better is menat for your future too :)

wow, that would worry me too. Definitely apply eslewhere as well. Good luck

I recently moved an hour away from my hospital job to be in district for another community college because where I was in district had no nursing program. They were starting an LPN program thru the college where I am now in district for. But all they ever did was give a run around. I got sick and tired so I moved.

you can apply to most colleges online, so there will not be a fee. you can start the application and save it to come back to and finish. i am in the process of doing this now. then pick the one you are serious about and send your transcripts.

good luck!
