I currently live in CA and i'm looking to get into a BSN nursing program. I've taken physiology, anatomy, micro, chem, stats, and all gen ed to be considered a transfer student, but I only have a 3.0 GPA overall, and a 3.0 in science pre reqs. And I got a 73% on TEAS. So obviously I wasnt accepted into any nursing programs that I applied to. I really just want to get into a BSN program this year, are there any schools out there (including private) that would accept me for fall? It doesn't matter what state or anything.
* Also, I will be completing a program to receive my CNA license in July

You could always try Winston Salem State University in Winston Salem, NC
Good luck!

Have you thought about getting a book to help you boost your TEAS score? I used Kaplan's Nursing Exam study guide. It helped. Brushing up on fractions & decimals would be handy. Your GPA looks good to me though. If you made less than a B in anatomy you can look into taking that again. Many schools consider a "C" not to be competitive even though they only ask for "C" or better.
Most of the deadlines have passed for Fall 2010.
Also, CNA is a certification, not a license....
If the BSN route isn't for you you can always get your ADN and then bridge to BSN. They even have online programs for that.
Just wanted to throw some alternative ideas your way.. Good luck!

Really, What is WSSU requirements? Some of the students who were unable to get into UNC-Greensboro program, got into Queens in Charlotte, NC. Don't know much about the program except that it is private.

wssu only requires like a 2.7 gpa, check it for yourself, it may have changed.
Actually it's a 2.6 and I believe they actually accept people with that low of a GPA...I'd visit the campus and talk to the program director/admissions board...let them know you're interested and ask someone to evaluate your transcript.

I got into Queens in charlotte for the fall of 2010. I'm about to graduate in May from Appalachian State University in Boone with a BS in Health Communications and a minor in Biology-- so i've had all of the pre-reqs. I will be graduating with a 3.3 and didn't do very well on the TEAS but Queens doesn't look at that--they have a Kaplin exam instead--which I still didn't do very well on.
