Getting back in the swing of things

I have been off for 4 days and have no motivation to get to bed so I can be fresh and ready in 6 hours when my alarm will ring. Vacations are even worse for me. It takes me a week to prepare to leave and a week to get back in the swing of things. I think I'm better off just working all the time, lol.

How long have you been a nurse? These transitions have gotten easier for me with experience.

Long enough, I think its more about momentum. When I keep moving I'm golden but when I stop its hard to restart. :)

Fresh in 6 hrs? That just keeps me on my feet, not close to fresh lol. I haven't felt fresh in I don't know how long!

Yeah I'm afraid my days of fresh are long gone even with a full 8+ hours of sleep. At this point its looking like my coworkers will have to settle for revved up and dis-inhibited by too much caffeine, lol. It will make for a fun Monday.

I have the same problem. The more I work, the happier I am at work. I am happy as a clam working 60 hours a week. If I stay home more, I WANT to stay home more, and my get up and go is totally gone for at least the first day back. It's not even about sleep - I like to stay on my same sleep schedule while I'm off. It's just the thought of going back to work that gets me.

It's rough. I guess I usually get back into after a day or two...it's a shocker going back!....but it's been a long time since I was at a job long enough to *have* a vacation! LOL
