Georgetown University application process

Hello,

I just submitted my application for the Georgetown FNP masters program yesterday and I am already a ball of nerves! I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the process was like for them or if anyone else is the application process. If you have been accepted how long did it take to get the acceptance letter? Would you be willing to share your experience? What was your GPA like?

Looking forward to connecting with other applicants/students!

Congratulations on submitting your application. The process and decision, as I remember it, was pretty fast. Your GPA is not the end all to being accepted. I remember being notified I was accepted and starting classes like a month later. Good luck.

Thank you so much! Are you finished with the program or still in it? How did/is it going?

Just started 4th semester and clinicals. This program is no joke, don't let anyone tell you that an online program is not as good as a brick and mortar. PM me if you want details. I'm glad to help anyway I can.

Thank you so much! I will definitely keep in touch! Good luck with everything.

I had a friend that did that but the cost of the program is outrageous!

Hi! I am currently doing my first term at Georgetown and I will back up Sean's statement with how this program is no joke. With that said, I'm learning so much and I believe the price is worth it. This is not the kind of "education" where you are spending 90% your time doing busy work and 10% of your time actually learning (ahem--my BSN education). I have nothing but positive things to say.

I received an acceptance a little less than 2 weeks. I was told that they look at overall cumulative GPA as well as science GPA, but again, they are not the end-all. Good luck!

Congrats on your hard work! Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope to have good news about my application soon! I am the most impatient person ever....the wait is killing me!

Yes, it's a very expensive program but they have a wonderful reputation and 100% board pass rate.

For those that are in the program, did Georgetown find your preceptors for you or did you have to find them yourselves?

@AshleyDiane6 how is your application process going? I recently applied to GU also. I also would appreciate any information. I have read every post that has anything to do with Georgetown but there does not seem to be anything set in stone that says exactly what they are looking for. Sooo nervous.

I applied but didn't get in. They had a group meeting with the applicants and presented some info, then the director of the program met with each applicant individually for about ten minutes. I think they also do interviews by phone if you prefer. They are very big on "fit". I didn't get in despite having a 3.9 GPA.

I applied to Indiana Wesleyan... scared to death... hope I hear something soon... my BSN GPA was pretty good, but overall brought me down some (not serious enough, I guess)...

Im sorry you weren't accepted Tammy...
