Fun hobbies or interests?

So I have come to the conclusion that I need something fun to do on my off time. Right now, I spend time with my hubby, hang out with my dogs, do homework while I'm working on my master's, cook and eat. That's it. I need some thing new and exciting to do! The same old stuff is so boring.

I used to love to draw, paint and read when I was growing up but my parents discouraged that. So 20 years later I'm trying to pick it back up again and I just can't. I read a new book every once in a while but not like I used to :(

I have to admit I'm finding interest in makeup and hair now but can't just do that all the time lol. Also I like decorating.

Also this sounds kinda weird but I went horseback riding for the first time lately and I would love to work with horses but have no idea how to go about doing that?? I have absolutely no background in farms/ranches/ or horses at all.

Does anyone else have any hobbies they are passionate about? I would love to hear about them! Maybe I can find a new passion or hobby.

I love to travel but I don't really have the chance anymore, due to funds. I also was a figure skater and tennis player and miss both of those things.

Maybe you can take art classes at a studio or community college? You'd probably like that! Or some sort of book club, perhaps affiliated with a local library? And I'm sure you could volunteer helping kids or disadvantaged adults learn to read. I don't have any advice about the equine, stuff, though. Again, I'm sure there are volunteer opportunities!

Knitting, yo ! Also crochet, weaving, dyeing, spinning... And sewing. Anything textile related, I'm there.

Volunteer at therapeutic riding program?

Happy life- it sounds like we are the same person!! All I do lately is work, school, hang out at home with my boyfriend and dogs, sleep, and eat. I go through phases of hobbies. I love to craft so when I have time I crank something out. I made some paper and felt flowers for decoration and that was a fun, inexpensive and satisfying craft. It comes together quickly and brightens up the room! I also knit and sew although I'm not very good at it. What about exercise? I have been going on hikes with a Meetup group and its really fun and I get to explore new areas. I was nervous at first but it turned out to be great. Hope you can find something fun!! í ½í¹‚

Oh yeah oh and I forgot to mention I used to volunteer at a therapeutic riding facility! If you enjoy working with people in the special needs community and horses then you will love it!

I've play piano since I was 4 and still love to do that (hell, that was my original major in college haha) and anything to do with music in general. I'm lucky enough to live in an area with loads of restaurants and wineries so that provides a lot of amusement. I also love reading and I absolutely love movies, but some days nothing beats taking a book outside with a glass of wine to get away from it all.

The beach is also a favorite place to go (Monterey/Bodega Bay type beaches, not the hot, Southern California type).

I do my own nails most of the time and cooking/baking is loads of fun!

I wish a hobby of mine was cleaning.... :banghead:

I had no idea anything like this existed!!! Thank you!

Thanks for the ideas everyone!

Mountain biking, snowboarding, and online video games. Lol

Mountain biking, skiing, splitting wood. Swinging a fiskars 4lb ax is a great stress reducer.

There are probably horse rescues in your area. You could also try and volunteer with one of those :)
