I am fuming mad. :angryfire:angryfire:angryfire
We had clinicals today and I had a buddy. Our pateint had a bowel movement and needed a full complete bath. I cleaned as much as I could on my side before having the patient roll towards me to get other side cleaned. Partner proceeds to clean patient and then change new sheets. Patient rolls toward her, patient still has stool on lower body. Fine, but for you to set me up I am FUMMING! Instructor comes over to see how we are doing. Partner says ' you need to wipe all the stool before removing old sheets.' I wanted to bash their head in. No one likes to clean stool, I get that but to bash me in front of the instructor. I am about to explode. I really cant believe some people.
I left without saying another word to her. I needed to cool off.

I have heard from more than one person, that people will throw you under the bus, quickly. I haven't started clincals yet and I hope that this doesn't happen.
Good luck, I would have been mad too.

Nursing students can be sneaky backstabbing little B's, and they can be loyal, trusting and lifelong friends. Its weeding out the bad ones that is the hardest!
I have to agree. I have been lucky enough to meet three girls, one of whom I am really close with and we have only been in class for 5 weeks. Many times you can pay close attention to people in your class the way they act and carry themselves and you will know exactly who is going to stab you in the back.

I'm in my third semester and can't imagine anyone in any of my clinical groups behaving in such a way. You should not have let it go that easily. I would've pulled that person aside in private and let them know what a colossal jerk move that was and to sleep with one eye open.
I so wanted to! But I was so shocked and Im not good with confrontations. I probably would have said a swear word to her. I imagined a million different ways. I couldnt believe some people are so tricky. Cant wait this semester is over and I dont want to be paired up with her again ever.

i would speak to your buddy privately and tell them you did not appreciate what they did.
i agree with the PP who said nursing students are backstabbers. in my class, there are two people who i would ever care to see again. the rest of them have been nothing but rotten, sneaky, cheating and conniving.
i was "buddied" with this girl in the same room. she went on break, and i covered her patient. i went on break, for 15 minutes mind you, reported off to her and came back. my buddy was outside having a cigarette and my patient had a big, runny BM and fingerpainted in it. it was everywhere. i was so mad.

Fumming mad: do not raise your blood pressure, do not allow your co-student to have FREE RENT in YOUR HEAD. If your instructor was diligent and observed the situation, believe me you have nothing to worry about. It continues to be a challenge to work with others. It calls for trust in the other person, but sometimes if they let you down, speak to them about it and move on. Now you know their work ethic. Do not allow this to wrack your nerves. Learn NOT to be like this one. You shall do well in school. and be the nurse you are studying to become. Stay true to yourself. :typing

Use your fuming madness to vent here and then talk calmly to your partner that you will not put up with that kind of behavior again.
It takes practice to confront - I have a hard time too. But you must stand up for yourself.

Ok - what am I missing here? So...there was some stool left? I mean its easy to miss some - so you just clean it again. I just don't see what the big deal is so I must be missing something. Can someone enlighten me??
I think it was the comment in front of the teacher that made it seem like the OP missed cleaning up the patient correctly.
(Can you fix the spelling error on the title, fumming/slumming instead of fuming . . . ).

That's exactly what the OP was driving at. I can't imagine the nerve it would take to do something so slimey.
