FSW Fall 2019

Hi everyone! Just wanted to get a topic started on FSW's Fall 2019 cycle. The application deadline is May 15th. Here are my stats:

When this spring semester ends, I will have taken 8 out of the 9 pre-reqs. (3.62 GPA) I plan on taking A & P II in the summer. I am also taking the TEAS for the first time in May. I am a little stressed that I'm cutting it too close to the deadline and taking the TEAS without A & P II. My #1 choice is Collier ANEW, #2 is Lee ANEW.

Anybody else out there applying for Fall?

How is the ANEW program?

It isn’t bad but it is A LOT of work. Be prepared to read. I work full time and read/study 20-30 hours a week. That isn’t including Classroom/clinical time. We have class Thursday 5:30-9:30 and Saturday clinical 6:30am - 4:30pm and when we start going to the hospital it’s 6:30 am -6:30 pm.

I hope someone will reply to this post. Where are some of your clinical sites for Fall? Please let me know for all such as collier, lee, and port charlotte.

How is nursing school so far?

Thank you.

Anybody got in with a TEAS score of 70?

I’m in the Lee ANEW program. We have 3 clinical groups. We’re starting in nursing homes. She’ll Point, Health Park and Gulf Coast Village. You don’t get to pick your placement for clinical sites. I know the people going to health park will go to Lee after they’re done at the nursing home. And people at Gulf Coast Village will go to Cape Coral Hospital after.

Hello,

I don’t know if it is appropriate to ask these questions here, if not, please forgive me.
I want to be a registered nurse. I will take prerequisites in FSW in spring 2020. Anyone knows about Rasmussen nursing school? I don’t know if I should go to Rasmussen nursing school or FSW nursing school. Apparently FSW nursing school is more affordable, but I wonder if student’s graduate from FSW can get a good job? I don’t know much about Rasmussen either, that’s why I am asking. It is a difficult decision for me, which nursing school to go.

Thank you!

Does it matter where we get basic life support certification? Does it have to be with FSW?

FSW is a lot cheaper and not as fast paced as Rasmussen. Also, FSW is accredited and has been since the beginning where as Rasmussen just became accredited a year ago. Therefore, FSW students are always able to find jobs a lot easier than Rasmussen students. This is also because hospitals know that FSW is a lot harder to get into where as Rasmussen accepts anyone who is willing to pay. Rasmussen offers information sessions that are around 2 hours long and they also give you a tour. I went to one and it was very helpful and everyone is really nice! If you are having difficulty deciding between the two I suggest you go to their info meeting. Best of look to you!

Can someone let me know how often do you have a pharmacology exam (i.e. every week, every other week) or have to meet on campus for this course?

Check your email guys! I literally just got it.

edit- this was meant for Spring 2020 forum

Hello. Can anyone tell me if they purchased their books/ebooks from anywhere other than the campus bookstore for less than $999? Also does the book bundle come with anything special that we need that another pdf version of the book may not come with?

thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
